I have just completed 2 weeks after knee surgery. The staff are dedicated, caring & highly professional. They catered to my coeliac, fodmap, diabetic diet with delicious & nutritious meals. The cleaners are meticulous in their daily cleaning & discharge cleanse of rooms. The physiotherapists were patient, kind & encouraging. The coffee from the cafe was the nicest I’ve ever had! The cafe will also deliver to your room! I gained confidence with OT lessons, car transfer & kitchen activities. I left with certainty that I won’t have a fall at home as I had after another surgery. Forever grateful
I attended my clinical placements at TVRC, where my clinical placement educator was exceptional in her role. Very motivated and hardworking. Excellent interaction with every student. On the first day, she provided clear and concise instructions, ensuring that I understood the procedures and protocols before allowing me to perform. She provided me with orderly and clear debriefings throughout the placement, and she was kind and understanding, always prepared to answer my questions. This helped me stay focused and organized. My learning experiences were also greatly enhanced by my buddy nurses, who were always kind, welcoming, and helpful. They took the time to make sure I was comfortable and to explain things in detail. I am grateful for their part in making the placements joyful.nnIn addition, my clinical educator gave me encouraging words and helpful suggestions, which gave me a boost of confidence and motivated me to pursue excellence. She created a positive learning environment, which made my clinical placement a great experience.nThe Victorian Rehabilitation Centre is an excellent teaching facility with education sessions, and I highly recommend it to nursing students looking for clinical placements. Thank you.nA nursing student
End of visiting time is 6pm. How does that even work?? Especially when visitors or loved ones work a 9-5 hour shift. How are they supposed to only visit their person in rehab for an hour? On top of that manager on 2/06 was really rude in telling us to leave. A little bit of kindness goes a long way.
I spent 3 weeks is here and the nurses male and female were they all made me feel quite comfortable and safe. The Cafe after I could move around made a coffee that was the best a ever had and it was the same everyday. The service from the cafe was way over and beyond as the day before valentines I asked the lady if she could buy me some flowers to give my wife and she went out of her way the buy me a bunch after her hard day at work. I truly can’t thank them enough for their help.nThe food was ok there was more than enough breakfast morning tea lunch and then afternoon tea dinner and then tea afterwards. I put on 4 kgs lol nAs I had had a stroke I was embarrassed about my speech and the speech pathologist was a huge help also she was very pretty, gave me something to look forward to every day.
If I was to review on certain staff members and their care/compassion/help it would easily be a 5 star......BUTnThis is my second stay at Vic Rehab and I am appalled at the fact that I am forbidden to have visitors or communicate in any way with the lovely staff I befriended at my last stay. We made friends and I feel it's an abuse of some bored pencil pusher to say who can be friends and who cannot.nGET A LIFE MANAGEMENT!!!!!nAlso this stay at VRC was the most horrific stay in any health institution over my many years and multiple experiences in various health environments.nnAbsolutely NO compassion and no help.nMusical doctors one of which lied to my face as well as calling myself and my sister liars.nnIt's a shame that some really nice and competent staff are not necessarily allowed to do their jobs property.
