The first time I went there a couple of weeks ago. They were very disorganised. Reserved seats were just free for all instead of monitoring people to their allocated seats. Very hot in there, they failed to turn on air-conditioning. They don't believe in RSA. There were VERY intoxicated people staggering, and they did not care. I'd never go there again
Amazing venue. Iconic and historical inside. A place to watch anything
Thornbury Theatre rocked the Bushfire Appeal with The Teskey Brothers, Cash Savage and The Last Drinks and Grace Cummings. Originally I found the venue when attending Women of Letters Sundays. Art Deco interior is impressive.
There's no parking, have to park on the road. Interior looks very beautiful with golden art. Theatre is big and spacios. Overall it's ok.
I came here years ago to watch a pole dancing competition, and had a great time. I visited again recently for ‘Bez - In Conversation’ as part of the 86 Festival. Again, I had a great time. There are two different rooms here, one downstairs and one upstairs. Both are very different, but equally as good. The upstairs room is the bigger of the two, and really nice and spacious. The whole upstairs is really old fashioned, including the toilets. It would be nice if they renovated the toilets and made them more modern, as they are a bit grim. The bar is unpretentious and always has friendly staff. This is just a really great venue. It would be cool to have a proper 90s rave in the room upstairs! I have a great time every time I visit, and I would just like to see them support more underground bands and artists, as these are the people cultivating the tastes of the mainstream, and they need to be supported. Overall though, a great venue with friendly staff.
