One of my favourite restaurants in Adelaide. Unassuming location where you wouldn't expect a good feed, but do they deliver authentic Vietnamese! With the mum cooking out the back, this place is super friendly and accommodating. Service is great, and the food came out quick, hot and very tasty! The grilled betel leafs with beef were moist, savory and a great appetizer! The authentic mini rice pancakes with pork and prawn took me back to the street markets in Asia. Crispy base, moist pancake and enough filling for a great snack. Mains are generous portion sizes, and with prawns sourced locally Port Lincoln you can't go wrong. Will be coming back again soon!
Get the beef goi salad, it will not disappoint, trust me. At first I was not interested as I wanted tofu so I got extra tofu on the salad just in case but holy smokes, the beef was so good! Thin, juicy, flavourful. It is perfect for a small snack on a hot day or as a side to have with a heavier meal. The vibes in the restaurant were good but I will definitely be coming back for that beef salad
I was excited to try a few traditional Vietnamese items I was nostalgic for listed on the menu. Upon experiencing, the take on the dishes were a bit modern with a more refined approach without the usual heaviness of oil. I appreciated this; however, I’m partial to richness that I’m used to, it’s to each one’s own for preference with Vietnamese cuisine - both are great. The ambiance is a walk up & order at the bar, cash/cards/ApplePay accepted, Vietnamese owned/operated, welcoming decor, clean and relaxed environment.
A lot of Chinese food and some Thai and Indonesian on the menu. If you’re not familiar with which ones are Vietnamese I would definitely ask so you get an authentic experience. The entrees were DELICIOUS but the mains were pretty flavourless. The minced prawn was nice but we didn’t know it would be processed. Really friendly staff. They have high chairs too. Would be back though.
The 2 beautiful brothers who work together are amazing. I came for my birthday. This place does not disappoint. We ordered cold rolls and their famous curry. Highly highly recommend
Clean and spacious place. We had lunch for 6 people and there were various sizes of tables available which are great for larger groups of people. We were served very fast, and the food was fresh and delicious. Green tea served in a pot, though I would suggest owners to make the tea list longer considering the restaurant's name One star I took off because of pricing. My seafood salad bowl with noodles and vegetables wasn't so large, but it cost around $27, which could be fine for the second dish. Though the quality of food was good. Atmosphere? Welcoming for a meal and chat with your friends or family over the lunch, but for dinner for 2 I would perhaps look for more intimité place
I ordered the chicken curry which was quite good. Careful not to fall into the same trap I did. The rice is not included in the price the curry and I ended up purchasing the most expensive rice on the planet- $7 for a small serving. If you are getting takeaway, I highly recommend you cook your own rice at home. I would’ve otherwise rated my experience here quite highly, I hope to see a more sincere approach in the future. Currently I feel that they intentionally put their customers in a false sense of security as to how much they going to pay for the curry. Just in response to the owners reply. Sorry to break you delusion, but your rice was very ordinary and not worth $7 for a single serving. This is a stingy act of deception and you know it. I have noticed that the low ratings regarding your restaurant are not about food but about you were the way your staff handle customers. I wonder if restaurant is in the best hands?
Love Vermicelli noodles like me? …. Then try something different for a change, like number 43 - Goi Tom Ga …. tender chicken and fresh prawns salad with tossed Vietnamese herbs do yourself a favour
Highly recommend Green tea house it is in my opinion the best Vietnamese place in Adelaide. I had the spicy chicken wings, Chicken cold rolls and the Vegetarian Spring rolls, these were absolutely DELICIOUS. Every time we are looking for a place to eat out or get takeaway I always recommend Green Tea House. The waiters and chefs there are incredible in cooking and social skills, some of the waiters sometimes have conversations with the customers and even crack jokes! I have introduced many people to this restaurant and they all love it.
We had the beef in betel leaf entree, sizzling beef main, and bun cha tom salad. Thoroughly enjoyed it all and highly recommend. I did ask for extra crushed nuts and coriander not included for the salad which they happily obliged at no extra cost. Friendly, efficient service.
