We had the most wonderful time with our dog Shady at Jo's guesthouse. Jo's an amazing host, very attentive, considerate and caring. We stayed for 3 nights and breakfasts were different every day; all delicious and freshly cooked. We highly recommend that you have dinner at Jo's place too, the flavours, ingredients, plating etc. are of fine dining standards but in the comfort of the guesthouse. We appreciate every cup of tea you've brewed for us and chopping up our Watermelon Jo! The room was very comfy and clean. It got quite humid and hot when we were there but the air con blew them all away! Can't wait to visit again. Thank you Jo.
We cannot recommend The Table Guesthouse highly enough. Its like like little piece of Tuscany in the Hunter Valley. We stayed here with our miniature poodle after eloping in the Hunter and felt right at home. There is a beautiful courtyard that greets you upon entering, with exposed wood throughout the interior, a warm lounge area with a fire place that is so cosy you'll forget you're staying at accommodation .. it feel like you're staying with friends or an Aunty's place. I cannot speak highly enough of Jo. She is friendly, welcoming, kind and so helpful. Not to mention, the reviews of the excellent breakfast are on point. She also offers tours to pet friendly wineries so we could bring our little dog along. We truly left feeling like we'd made a new friend and were not ready to leave. Although, we'd love to keep this gem a secret we highly recommend stopping by. We only wish we had made a longer booking and we intend on coming back soon. Special mention to the friendly fur resident Harvey. Rico misses you. Much love
Me and my partner stayed here for a night when visiting the wineries of Hunter Valley. The place has only three rooms, so it was calm and quiet. The room itself and the garden were lovely and Jo is an incredible host. She served a well cooked breakfast including fresh baked bread and made the best flat whites I've had since I arrived in Australia 6 weeks ago. It is a dog friendly place so be prepared that you may meet a new four legged friend if you stay for several nights.
Hubby, Molly, Milo and I had the pleasure of unwinding at the Table Guesthouse with Jo and Harvey for 5 nights. Jo is the most amazing host we have ever encountered. Nothing was too much trouble, every day she checked in to see if there was something she could do to make the stay more enjoyable. Jo kindly puppy sat so we could enjoy a night and day out, arranged lunch and wine tasting and dropped us off at a few places. Nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast and dinner was amazing and it’s a lovely place just to just hang out and relax. Bedrooms very comfortable and well equiped. Can’t wait to come back for winter!
It’s been a while since I last stayed here and whilst it was under the previous owner I only stayed once. However, under the new owner Jo, the Table Guesthouse has got its Mojo back! The gardens are looking beautiful, the food is amazing, and portions are generous, the rooms are super comfortable and one of the best mattresses I can remember sleeping on. Jo is a wonderful host, caring, with great attention to detail whilst never imposing – she is the new soul of The Table. This has been one of my favourite places in the Hunter and with the new owner, my new go-to place. Thank you for a welcoming stay, Jo.
We chose Table guesthouse because it was dog friendly and nearby for the activities we were travelling for; however, having stayed two nights, I would thoroughly recommend the stay for the wonderful food and warm hospitality we received. Jo is a wonderful host and the atmosphere of the place is restful and full of fine taste & beauty. We will certainly be staying there again.
An absolutely excellent stay! If you are thinking of visiting Hunter Valley you must book at The Table Guesthouse. Clean, cosy rooms and a delicious home cooked breakfast! We also booked dinner with Jo during our stay and she prepared a wonderful and personal meal for us. It was delicious! We will definitely be staying again!
Highly recommended. Well located, warm and homely guesthouse. Exceptional host. Delicious food. The Table is well located for visiting cellar doors in the Hunter Valley. The guesthouse is warm and homely. There is only a small number of guest rooms so it feels very private, quiet and personal. It also has a cosy common area and picturesque courtyard. Jo is an exceptional host. Her personal care is reflected in herself and the attention to detail at the guesthouse. Jo warmly welcomed us on arrival with refreshments and a toasty wood fire. She included extra details in the room like beautiful sheets, extra blankets and complementary snacks. Jo’s cooking was a real highlight. She is an experienced chef with great skill. The breakfasts and dinner we enjoyed were delicious. Jo was very adaptable in cooking for dietary requirements. It was lovely to hear that she uses some home grown produce where possible.
This was the best guesthouse experience we’ve ever had. Jo is an amazing cook used to own high class restaurant and goes out of her way to always make sure there’s something special on your plate it’s like having your own personal Michelin Star chief. The place is also ‘real’ dog friendly our pomapoo quickly made a new best friend with Harvey, Jo’s Jack Russel. The place is rustic and comfortable, great indoor and outdoor settings, and close enough like 20 mins to everywhere we wanted to visit. Jo also helped set up activities like wine tour and horse riding with her local contacts. So all in all a wonderful and revitalizing “don’t worry able anything” stay! Thanks Jo, we’ll definitely be back soon!!!
We had a very lovely weekend at The Table Guesthouse. The room was cozy and warm. We had a delicious dinner and very filling breakfast! Jo is such a perfect host, she spoiled us the whole stay! 11/10 truly recommended! Thank you Jo for being cheerfully accomodating & thank you Harvey for sharing your bone & playing with Deni. You both made our Hunter Valley trip sweet & memorable.
