Visited Pompette for their lunch banquet and had an absolutely wonderful experience from start to finish. Every dish that came out was thoughtfully crafted, full of flavour, and beautifully presented — you can really taste the quality and care that goes into their menu. The portions were generous without being overwhelming, and the pacing of the banquet made the whole meal feel relaxed and enjoyable. Service was a standout. Staff were friendly, attentive, and professional, always checking in at the right moments without hovering. The ambience is gorgeous — modern, stylish, and welcoming. It strikes that perfect balance between chic and comfortable, making it an ideal spot for a long lunch or a catch-up with friends. The setting really elevates the whole dining experience. The Christmas tree was up as well added to the vibe of the interior. Overall, it was a lovely afternoon and time very well spent catching ul with a friend. I’m already looking forward to coming back and trying more of the menu. Highly recommend Pompette for anyone looking for great food, great service, and a beautiful dining atmosphere at The Star Brisbane.
Basically visited to check it all out.nIt was bustling with people celebrating everything from work parties to graduation celebrations. The observation deck was a real crowd pleaser. I think it is a very cool place to hold a function, though I cannot fathom the prices.nOver all it looks beautiful and well crafted.nHad a drink in the Casino lounge, that was nice and relaxing. Prices were as expected but Members would pay a little less.nI am sure it will be a success once they iron out any creases, so to speak.nChristmas decorations were gorgeous.
I ordered food by scanning the QR code on the table, as instructed, and even included my table number in the notes to avoid any confusion. Despite this, the food was left sitting under a heat lamp instead of being brought out.nnMy phone had died at the time, so I couldn’t check notifications, meaning the food could have been sitting there for who knows how long. The next day, after charging my phone, I saw a message from the bar saying my food was “ready for collection,” which was obviously far too late to be useful. If customers are required to scan a QR code and provide a table number, the food should be delivered to the table, not left unattended. The system defeats the purpose entirely.nnThe Sky Deck also stops serving alcohol at 10pm and closes at 11pm, which feels surprisingly early for a venue of this size and reputation. On top of that, the cocktail menu was extremely limited with very few options available. I ended up drinking Fruit Tingles the entire time. It was fine, but for a venue like this I expected a much broader selection.nnOverall, the experience felt poorly managed and underwhelming, especially for a venue that presents itself as a premium destination.
We stayed here for my wife’s birthday and everything was perfect. The view over the river and South Bank was absolutely stunning. Our room was spacious, spotless, and the bathroom was just as impressive.nnAfter heading out for some shopping, we came back to find a complimentary birthday mousse cake and a handwritten note from the front desk team, such a thoughtful touch.nnIt may not suit every budget, but for us it was truly money well spent. Highly recommend!
We had a great time for our quick staycation for 1 night. Staff were super friendly in every aspect of the hotel and they gave us an early check in. They even gave us a box of chocolates for our anniversary We swam in two of the 3 pools on level 7 and it was a beautiful way to spend an afternoon. We ate at Fat Noodle and Isoletto pool bar for a very reasonable price. The river view king room was very spacious and we enjoyed the complimentary mini bar. We used the valet parking at $65 and it was worth being hassle free trying to find parking. They had our car waiting when we checked out. Overall we really enjoyed our stay.nThe only downside would have been we love a freezing room when we sleep and we were hot - we are hot blooded…the ac was on 18 but could have been cooler.nWould go back through….
