Blending an elegant fusion of past and present, ‘The STABLES at COMO’, affectionately nicknamed ‘the Stables’, is the new café set against the stunning Como House and Gardens in South Yarra, and will launch to the public on Thursday 25 July.
‘The Stables at Como’ will be run by renowned Hospitality Management Group ICKE & IGBY, the driving force behind a number of iconic Melbourne cafes including Porgie + Mr. Jones, Snow Pony and Friends of Mine.
Encapsulating the inspiring and aristocratic history of the 160 year old Como property, the Stables is slated to become a much-needed refuge from the hectic Melbourne city lifestyle, without needing to travel outside of the city fringe.
The nostalgic menu will feature timeless treats, including old fashioned cakes, sweets, Devonshire teas and lemonade scones baked in original 1847 wood fired ovens, all made with purpose to complement the elegant space.
Martin Purslow, CEO of The National Trust of Victoria said, “We are delighted that the opening of the new Stables at Como café will see the Como gardens open to the public on a daily basis, and that Como will once again be an active part of the local community.”
The STABLES at COMO will be open 7 days a week for breakfast, brunch, lunch and afternoon tea from Thursday 25 July. The café will also be available for private events and catering within the Como house and grounds.
