It's March 6th, Labour Day public holiday. I get that. I check your website, says you're open but Labour Day hours might mean you're not. So I go to your Facebook and it says you're definitely open. I drive all the way from the City of Perth to the Library to find a notice on the door saying it's closed. No one thought of updating your Facebook. For fncks sakes!
Actually the first time I have been in the library in Subiaco and I must say that I had a very pleasant experiece. I enjoy the quiet space that libraries provide and this was no exception. There were a great selection on books on yoga and wellbeing that I really enjoy reading.
Great local library. We dropped in one afternoon as we needed to sign up after moving to the area. The service was great and they were extremely helpful.

A pretty good library overall with wide selection and friendly staff however it can get a little noisy at times. if you’re looking for a quiet place to work the state library in the city might be a better option and it’s reasonably close as well.

Keep driving, you don't need a book that badly. To be fair, the library is continuing the Subiaco mission of keeping the locals safe from 'outsiders' that is, people from other suburbs. Subiaco residents don't read borrowed books, they have staff to do that. I mean, I understand their attitude; it starts with these footloose drifters looking at our library books, next they're buying our coffee, browsing our shops, parking ! in our streets and we're off to hell in a handbasket. Try somewhere welcoming, it's worth the extra time in the car.
Subiaco Library must be the best in the state. They never disappoint! Excellent service with patient, kindly staff. I commend them.
Okay so I can't really rate this library properly, because I literally haven't used it for it's true purpose. The real reason we travelled here was for Sean Tan's mural in the children's section, it was amazing!! Lots of detail in it, we were standing there checking it out and looking like random crazy people for a while. There was also a huge painting by Sean Tan in the main library area too. Oh and there was a fish tank in the library, kinda cool, haven't seen that kind of thing in a library before.. So, 5 stars for Sean Tan art in this location :
