My six year old daughter has been dancing at The Space in their KYT program since she was 18 months old. We love the Space because it is such an inclusive environment, teachers and management are fabulous, with a good mix of focus on technique, concert-preparation and most of all enjoyment and learning to love dance! The concerts are held on-site in their own performance space which is a great way for the kids to be introduced to performing for an audience in a comfortable and non-intimidating way. Highly recommend to any family!

Pancho’s reggaeton classes are truly amazing. He’s a professional artist, and shares his overflowing energy and passion and knowledge with everyone regardless of their level. He encourages everyone to feel the music and find their spirit.nnIt’s not everyday you find a teacher with this combination of professional talent and natural teaching ability. This weekend I attended one of his beginner/intermediate workshops with over 20 students and the feeling in the studio was electric.

Some front desk staff are honestly the worst part of this place.nnToday I arrived about five minutes late because I couldn’t get into the student portalwhich is incredibly outdated and frustrating to use. I went straight into class because the receptionist was already helping someone else. As soon as class finished, I went over to explain what happened and asked if she could mark me as attended. I was tired and English isn’t my first language, so it took me a moment to explain. Instead of listening, she accused me of trying to sneak into class without paying the teacher. I couldn’t believe it.nnThis isn’t the first time. A few months ago, I enrolled in a beginners class, but the teacher arrived 15 minutes late and then announced it was actually an intermediate/advanced class. I tried, but I couldn’t keep up, so I went to reception. When I asked to please move to another class, the receptionist rudely refused, saying it had already started 20 minutes earlier. I explained that it had only just begun because the Reggaeton teacher had arrived 15 minutes late. Her supervisor eventually had to step in, and somehow I ended up apologising because I felt pressured by the staff.nnOne bad experience is understandable. Two is a pattern. The front desk staff seriously need customer service training. It’s a shame because some of the teachers are fantastic, but the way customers are treated at reception is unacceptable. As the owner of two businesses myself, I find this level of customer service embarrassing.nnIn response to Deb’s reply:nnI have to disagree that these were simply misunderstandings. From my perspective, this response attempts to frame the situation as a misunderstanding rather than addressing the actual issue.nnMy review is about the way I was treated by the reception staff. I was accused of trying to enter a class without paying, even though I went to reception immediately after the class finished to explain what had happened.nnRegarding the Reggaeton class, I completely understand your safety policy. However, that policy was never explained to me at the time. More importantly, the situation only existed because the instructor arrived 15 minutes late and the class was not what had been advertised. At the time, I raised this issue with you, and you agreed that the class description would be changed from Beginners to Intermediate/Advanced. Unfortunately, that change was never made. Instead of acknowledging those facts, your response dismisses my experience once again.nnAs anyone reading these reviews can see, another reviewer, Daisy, someone I have never met, raised very similar concerns about the attitude of some reception staff. When different customers independently describe the same issue, it’s worth considering that the problem may not simply be a misunderstanding. Continuing to dismiss these concerns only suggests that the issue extends beyond the reception staff and reflects a broader unwillingness to address legitimate feedback.nnI’ve also spoken with other students who have described some reception staff as having a sense of superiority, which is unfortunate. People come to a dance studio to enjoy themselves, relieve stress, and often step outside their comfort zone to try something new. For many beginners, walking through the door is already a big step. They should be welcomed with kindness and encouragement, not made to feel uncomfortable because of the way they’re treated at reception.nnI stand by every word of my original review.

I’ve been attending this dance studio for many years and it has pushed me to be my best and helped me move up in my dance world, it hadalways been a place I genuinely loved, which is why this experience was so upsetting and disappointing.nnOne staff member, who has been at the studio for a long time and appears to have a very close personal connection to the ownership, was consistently rude towards me. During one interaction, they physically pushed past me without apologising. This left me feeling uncomfortable and unsettled, especially as another staff member checked on me afterwards, which made it clear the situation had been noticeable.nnI didn’t feel able to raise this concern at the time, as it felt likely that my feelings would be minimised or that I would be made to feel as though I was overreacting, rather than being taken seriously. That lack of confidence in speaking up made the situation even more difficult.nnUnfortunately, because of this experience, I won’t be returning to the studio. While it wasn’t traumatic, it was unsettling enough to change how safe and welcome I felt in a place that used to mean a lot to me. I hope this feedback is considered seriously so others don’t feel the same way.

We didn’t have a great experience with dance classes for kids. Specially ballet classes. They need teachers who understand what is like to work with kids. We made sure to email giving our honest opinion.
