POSITIONED IN THE HEART OF LEICHHARDT, THE ROYAL HAS BEEN A COMMUNITY ICON & DESTINATION PUB SINCE 1886.

The Royal joined the W. Short Hotel Group portfolio in July 2013. Since the acquisition, the family owned Group has completed stage 1 of the refurbishment project with the opening of The Royal Botanical bar and balcony, dining and terrace on level 1.
Having been at the heart of the Leichhardt hospitality scene for over 125 years, W. Short Hotel Group has made sure that the community remain at the core of the pub and who we are. By giving the venue a fresh new look, a fantastic new menu and a wider selection in the bars, the Royal is breathing new life back into the pub scene on Norton Street as well as the hospitality scene in the Inner West as a whole.

The Royal is one of my regular spots to go to for yummy cocktails & delicious food. The menu is extensive and is updated fairly regularly. Highly recommend the burgers & tacos - so good! Nothing beats sitting on the balcony watching the sun go down.

Lovely old pub good food options and views of Norton Street from upstairs. Private rooms available. Great service and delicious cocktails. We all had a terrific dinner watching the sun go down from the upstairs.

Clean, beautiful and very welcoming Pub, divided in ambiences that makes you feel very comfortable. Delicious and affordable meals. Family friendly! All the staff were very friendly from the welcome to the moment to leave the venue.

Really friendly staff, great atmosphere and beer. Sunday roast was disappointing, very tough and dry meat served in huge chunks with no greens. No amount of gravy could rescue the aridity. Yorkshire pudding was more like a pancake, which was nice but different.

Lovely... the ambience is amazing and relaxing... plus the food, drinks and service delivery is top notch.. my highlight was actually the friendly staff... this is worth more than a 5 star...

Solid run of the mill pub. Middle of the road beer selection with a couple of guest specials. Staff were friendly and efficient.

I love this pub, it is such a great pub. The food is amazing, cocktails are always great and if you want a good meal during the week and can't be bothered cooking you should try this place!
