Really enjoyed our lunch and drinks at Roots Bar. The burgers and fries were amazing. Burgers were very well crafted and fries were crispy and fluffy, one of a kind! Great selection of drinks and a relaxing garden space. Will definitely return when we are next in Takaka.

Super pumping and busy bar/restaurant and great choice of food on the menu. We really loved the fried chicken and tacos. Various seating areas inside and out giving lots of options.

Perfect buns and juicy fragrant thighs, and that was just the chicken burger! Easy parking, good access, comfortable, funky environment, fast service, generous portions. Excellent tunes and delightful staff. Was too hungry to take before pics of food. Hundies will go again.

Nice bar and great food and drinks! I can really recommend the Pork belly burger and the Rudie Mule cocktail.

This place is amazing! I made the trek to Takaka from Nelson specifically to try this place out and it did not disappoint! I had the Wild Pork Taco and the Jamaican Curry Goat Burger and both were amazing and like nothing I’ve ever had before. There was also a beautiful selection of local beer brewed in the Tasman region as well. Mask mandates were enforced and frankly recent responses from the owner defending her staff speaks to how much care and passion is put into the whole business. If you don’t work hospitality, just remember it’s a really tough time for all hospo right now and most are doing their very best!

Chicken burger is a must!! Perfectly fried and delicious. Lots of local beers and ciders on tap too, the perfect mix of rustic and relaxed. A new fave spot

Very good range of beers.  Friendly staff.  Large portions of slightly better than average standard pub food.  There is not a lot of choice in Takaka, so this place is worth a visit.

Went in here for a vegan hot chocolate and ended up going three days in a row. The vegan happy meal burger was delicious. Would definitely recommend this place. The staff were lovely.

What a find for an out of towner! Incredibly friendly service, really solid food, good drink options. Creative outdoor seating, too. We are only in town for a few days but might go back to try some more.
