Story

Established in 2010 by Jason Rowbottom & Nick Holloway, the co-owners of Nu Nu Restaurant and Numi Ice Creamery. The Rising Sun has become a much-loved part of Palm Cove for it's genuine hospitality & truly delicious, handcrafted simple food. It's kooky 70's decor, fresh off-the-boat-seafood, tropical cocktails and sea breezes are all staples of The Rising Sun bar & bistro.

Good food, fills you up. Great for groups. Nicely decorated place.

I've traveled 2347km from Melbourne Victoria, for the Crispy Squid here, simply amazing. Crispy flash fried squid, cucumber, red onion, peanuts, chilli dressing and fresh lime with Thai basil. The Rising Sun enjoys a winning trio: scenic beach front along Palm Cove's esplanade, tasty food and great service

beautiful cafe with yummy burgers and wraps were also delicious found it to be overpriced for the portions on the plate

Nearly didn't go in because of other ratings but thoroughly great lunch. Delicious seafood platter and the pasta dishes were very good quality and fresh. Would recommend for a relaxing lunch and glass of wine. Good service also.

Great staff, fantastic view and nice relaxed vibe. Happy Hour is the key - $10 snacks and cheaper cocktails 4-5pm. Food was great

Have visited a number of times during my stay here at Palm Cove. Very friendly and attentive staff who welcomed me back like a local. Perfect spot for a bite and a cocktail.

Service is slow, prices are high, taste is average, and they have a very limited vegetarian selection. I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant.

This sucks to say because the staff were lovely but unfairly under the pump. The chips were from Woolworths and side salad was just cut up cheap lettuce. Would have given 1 star if it wasn’t for the staff
