Tried the Southern fried chicken and burger, both were great. Chicken was crispy outside and tender inside and came with plenty of fries. Great selection of beers as well on the tap. Service was also ace.
Just came in for the $20 lunch special and was so impressed I decided to post about it. I got a beef pie with mash and green beans, and sure it’s a simple meal but these guys nailed it. Really fresh ingredients. Flaky, buttery pie with tasty af peppery filling. $20 lunch specials are usually a bit average, but this was like a $40 meal on special. Also they don’t do pots with their specials like everyone else, but schooners. Unbelievably good and delicious and thank you. I’ll be back.
This is a true story.nnBe me. I'm having a good time. There is some live music. I'm inhaling some bevvies and it's time to break the seal. I head into the bathrooms or what I now will refer to as the ice rink.nnI notice immediately it is slippery. I carefully massage my way across the floor to the urinal and I'm careful not to get too confident. The further I venture in the more slippery it has become. I stand at the urinal, which is packed with blokes all trying to get the job done. I amazingly get through this part unscathed.nnBut as I start to move away, I feel but the slightest slip in my right foot. I go to adjust but it is too late. I begin slip and it all starts moving in slow motion. But this isn't just a story about my downfall. See I mentioned above the urinals were packed. Unfortunately on my trip to the floor I started a chain reaction and one by one, seven guys all fall over at once.nnIt is a nightmare, no laughing, only screams and shocked faces. Some dodge the troff of urine others now called it home. In the confusion I was able to avoid any blame but the damage was done. I saw a grown man covered in urine, simply start crying. His name was Tim. He was 37 and a breadwinner for a family of 4. Now he was Tim the piss guy.nnI'm not sure what the solution is, but lives were changed.
Good place for a catch up. There's better pre game venues for atmosphere. Take out a bank loan for drinks. Food is a small menu but very good.
Had dinner here before the USA v Sweden match, it was pumping with US fans! Standard pub grub, friendly polite staff, 2 minutes from Richmond St. The best location to eat before a match in the Olympic precinct
