The place was absolutely gorgeous and peaceful. Staff who assisted us was very cheerful and accommodating. Food was absolutely delicious, we just love everything we’ve had. The only downside was the time they serve the food, we’ve waited for more or less half an hour to have our first order then we’ve waited again to have the starter and etc. It was like we’ve spent more time waiting for our food to come rather than eating them.
Despite some recent negative reviews about the service, we had an amazing meal and amazing experience with the staff. Makes you wonder if the negative reviews say more about the patrons than the staff ‍ Anyway, we asked for flexible booking time so we could come along right after feeding our newborn, and it was no issue. We were greeted by warm and cheery wait staff who also gave us our space when needed. We enjoyed the starters of the sashimi platter - amazing high quality and thick cut fish. The tuna was… insane. And the seared scallops and crispy pork belly. The scallops were cooked perfectly, the pork was crispy but maybe a tad dry. For mains, the seafood chowder was amazing! Easy to overlook but on a colder autumn evening it was just what I needed. A nice large serve with crispy bread and some of the best mussels I have ever tasted. I assume all their mussel dishes use the same produce and will be just as tasty. We also had the bug and prawn linguine which was similarly delicious and had heaps of fresh basil and tomato! Finally we shared the desert tasting for 2, which was the perfect portion size. The deconstructed cheesecake looked very strange I laughed loudly! and it did feel a bit unnecessary to “deconstruct” cheesecake- but it was very very nice. Overall a wonderful experience and so glad we chose it for our first dinner date without our newborn thanks to my mother in law for babysitting!
This place is the ultimate. It is right on the water over looking boats and the water. The service was exceptional. The food was probably the best I have ever eaten. We had the opportunity to meet the chef and if I told you his nationality you would not believe it. I am just blown away by this restaurant we live in Newcastle but we have made a promise to visit at least once a month. We done to staff and chef 15 out of 10.
Stunning location and we were blessed to have a perfect sunset that night! Service was friendly and food came out quickly and was very tasty. Thank you for making the first night of our weekend away so enjoyable! :
Fantastic location with stunning views. It's breezy, relaxed with great food. The pastas & risottos were amazing as were the fritto misto & seafood. Chicken breast was too dry & dessert can be a miss. Other then that with a very affordable wine list, friendly service, great food definitely go for the more Italian or seafood dishes its a must visit.
The service here is extraordinarily excellent, also there is a fantastic view here. However the food is kind funny: Tuscan pork belly comes with a rubber texture pork skin, I believe chef try to bake a crunchy pork skin but they didn’t make the pork skin dry enough before cook. The chips which come with chicken parmigiana is obviously over cooked, you can see how oily it was.
Honestly we thought that they was joking with us. The people next to us had the food served in Tupperware when we walked in. We paid over 500 for the food which took over and hour and a half to come. 40min for a glass of water, and then a further 30 for our actual drinks all beer not even cocktails. The manager charged us around $2 EXTRA per drink so check your bill. Then when we asked to have the bill recharged they had the cheek to add an extra $50 for service charge when we would have been better self servicing and getting our own food and drink. I told the manager who in herself kept standing around chatting for ages to other staff and customers and not doing her job at all whilst other customers had to go to other members of staff instead of serving people and asking for their orders. The WORST part about it was was when we confronted them about it not one apology was given but was told ‘well that’s your opinion’ please train the manager in customer service, I’m not sure how she made manager but I feel that the owners need to reevaluate. Never in my life have I had that service or rudeness during a meal, especially when it comes to that price. She also tried to high-five my friend mid meal and wouldn’t stop until he participated…. Please provide some training in waitressing and customer service I’ve just seen your reply and I can’t respond. Yes this is the restaurant and if you read properly I said that it would have been easier to self serve. Here are the pictures of your service of the next table with Tupperware. Please train your manage! Don’t think this should happen in such an establishment I’m astonished how there still hasn’t been an apology for your poor service even in the reply. But it doesn’t suppose me for how bad your service was. I’m sure you won’t respond this but hopefully the Owners will take note of the pictures and the manager .. shame such an establishment is being run like this. Sorry just an update as I’ve seen your poor excuse of a reply. No the table next to us didn’t want their food in the containers. They actually told the manager they wanted the bill with their food due to waiting so long. And then the manager brought out the food in plastic containers. The table next to us was laughing that the manager had done this but didn’t want to wait any longer for plates because of how slow the service was. And no it was not busy you just can’t serve food in a timely manner. Stop making random excuses for your service!!!!
After reading many and varied reviews we were a little wary. In all honesty, we could not fault any part of our dining experience. Both wait staff were warm, friendly and efficient. We were given a very good table inside with an incredible view west of the marina, oyster leases and islands. We took a while to select from the menu; all choices sounded appealing. My husband settled on the seared scallops and pork belly for entree and I chose the sashimi plate. For mains, he chose the scotch fillet while I had the barramundi. All of the food was delicious, fresh and generous in serving. We didn't have to wait great lengths of time for food to arrive. The restaurant was not busy - a total of nine tables. Overall, we were most impressed and can't wait to return.
Absolutely stunning views and a great menu. The staff were very friendly and we had great service. A couple of draw backs, the venue is not accessible not hard to carry a pram up the stairs but no wheelchair access, small serving for the price and I did end up with food poisoning : My partner didn’t. If coming again I would time dinner for sunset to get the best of those views.
Celebrating my husband Birthday at The Point restaurant this evening and we had a wonderful time!! the sunset views was just spectacular!! Food, drinks and services were excellent!! Highly recommend.
