Spectacular pies, all the flavours were perfect and I always appreciate a pie that's not the standard beef - though there's nothing wrong with that either! We ended up with a goat curry, a deer, and a chicken pie and all were fabulous. They also had homemade ketchup and chutney which were both great. I also indulged with a little strawberry tart, which was probably the most unassuming but delicious tart I've eaten in a long time. The base was a good quality shortbread-style which saved it from the soggy fate that befalls so many berry tarts. The location is very charming, we sat out on the street and had a lovely walk around aurally afterwards.
Beyond superb. Absolutely outstanding! A cute little hole in the wall bakery and let me tell you it’s so good it will make you want to move to this town! Had a deer hunter pie venison, lentils and red wine and it was beyond good with flaky pastry and real ingredients. Also had a crème brûlée tart that was everything you could possibly hope for; crisp crackling outside and creamy inside. Also had a danish which was great and a golden gay time donut that was so sweet and creamy it threatened to give you instant diabetes. This bakery alone makes the town worth visiting.
A cute and small storefront with huge offerings. It was hard not to order around 10 things because everything looked so good. They even had bundled pies to take home and heat up for yourself later all ready to go. I ordered a toastie expecting something small, and it was gigantic! A great snack and lunch later. Excellent service and coffees as well.
Man, that moo pie was so good! And the pork and fennel sausage roll was awesome too. I will definitely drop in next time we go past. Great service as well
For a guy who loves a good pie…. When I discovered the Pie Mechanic, I thought I’d died and gone to heaven. To say their Moo and Brew ticked every box for me is a gross understatement. The Perfect crust encapsulates the perfect combination of tender beef shin, sauce, with just that hint of dark ale undertones. There is no falling apart here. You can bite in and it holds its shape throughout this culinary experience. And no lava burns either… they have found the perfect pie warmer temperature. Topped with their home made chutney, I would rate this pie alongside, if not above any I have had anywhere. I couldn’t help myself on my return journey 8 days later. I went again, just to be sure I wasn’t dreaming. I certainly wasn’t. I couldn’t help Myself and tried one of their pork and fennel sausage rolls. Yup…. It also delivered the goods. I will definitely stop every time I drive by from that first encounter through to forever. Yes yes yes Thank you Pie Mechanic. You have won me for life. Five stars Plus.
Absolutely delicious! Amazing pies and rolls! And their sauce/chutney too! Highly recommend
What an amazing little bakery! We purchased six of their gourmet pies in a take home packs and they were delicious. The goat one was our top pick. We had two pastries for breakfast and a croissant and all were fresh and excellent quality. Certainly a must stop on the New England highway. We didn't take any photos because we were too busy wolfing them down.
What a great pie. We had a venison, bacon & red wine and an Indian goat curry. Both chose to have the generous spoonful of chutney on the top. Has to be the best pie ever !!
Very ordinary, who wrote menu? My pie was stuck to tray, when I finally got it out it fell apart. Coffee not real nice either. Not a great shop front from road.
Pretty special pies served also the home made sauces and chutney were amazing.. You have to do takeaway but there are seats outside. I did think $9.90 maybe a bit dear but must say we've never had such delicious pies. Coffee was excellent too.
