A truly beautiful performance space located inside the Castlemaine Library. The acoustics are lovely, it's large enough to fit a good crowd, but not so large that it loses that intimate atmosphere. The seats are comfortable. Perhaps an odd thing to mention - but some theatres have small, hard seats crammed so close together that it detracts from the experience. This place was thoughtfully designed, and a pleasure to stay in for hours listening to music during the Castlemaine Jazz Festival. There is a little parking out the front, including disabled spots, and the library and venue are accessible. A lovely place in a very pretty town.
