A really odd place. Popped in by chance to watch the UFC, have a bite and drink. No table service and the table was littered with dirty glasses, TAB tickets, and other debris. Staff were not engaging or social at the bar. So much to offer and yet it seems training and management may need some help.nnIt wouldn’t take much more than common sense to get this place humming and roaring.nnThankfully didn’t see the roaches photo at the entry until leaving.
My husband had the Guinness pie at the upstairs restaurant and it was very nice and washed down with a few Guinness.nnThe beer garden is ok but with dirty glasses on most of the tables. Come to think of it, it was fairly dirty which is a real shame because the food was good, service was ok. Need more staff to keep on the hygiene.
Went mid-week for a catch up drink with a friend. they've a good beer selection, the place is very well spread out, so if you arent interested in the gaming area, you're well away from it. heaps of sports tv. I understand staffing is limited midweek, but one downstairs wasn't enough. the pizza i ate was delicious and very fairly priced. much better than crust. my friends steak was... not bad, could have been cooked more as they ordered it, but we were at the very tail end of meal service, at a local pub, so, not the worst. just could have been a smidge better. the fantastic beer selection and ability to stay well away of the gaming area is great. is located right on Victoria road, so heaps of public transport options. parking is limited, but that's not the hotels problem!
We 3 of us come here for an extended sip once every 4 or so weeks. We noticed a new Gov today, he looked like he was getting things in shape. We noted he was working harder than a few of the regulars, the males on this day. Hopefully this example is followed. It needs to be..nnWe'll be back again, but we dread seeing the smarmy barman, short haired guy, working upstairs. We avoided him a few times by getting rounds at different bars. He had a smart quip upon the first serve, not sure why. Get a different job if you hate what you do. The sort of bloke who gives you change without looking at you which happened. Seems like he thinks he is better than the people he serves - have seen this a few times now from him.nnNew Gov. Please sort this bloke out. You know of us, we had a brief chat and you waved goodbye to us when you left tonight.nnStaff issues at this pub. Easily fixed, just move on the entitled pretenders.nnThat aside, we enjoy a gentle sip here.....
Awful place and food.nHad dinner which was bad bad. Fried calamari was mainly batter and chewy. The chicken nachos bowl was boiling hot but chicken and everything else was dead cold, tasteless and soggy. The pork ribs were OK but the salad was overdressed.nThe dining room was rundown and needed a major refurbishment to be presentable. The table was sticky and appeared not clean, windows had wood rot, paint was bad etc. Major TV in the dining room and we had a bogan family beside us that were shouting at the football game regularly.nWe frequent the Woolwich Pier hotel which is amazing and properly renovated.
