Pretty nice hotel in a convenient location. I really like how their marketing team rebranded this place as a “retro hotel”, very smart. The decoration in the rooms is lovely, I very much appreciate little touches so it was great to get into our room and seeing the dim lighting and nice jazz music playing and the complementary welcome drink and biscuits :nDinner at Peacock was very enjoyable too.nThe outdoor bar has a nice atmosphere although it got very busy and we had to wait for a long time for our orders. They seemed a bit under staffed.nOverall if looking for a comfy 3.5-4star accomodation run with care and in town this is a great option and a reasonable price.
From the lovely glass of Prosecco on arrival, to the gorgeous Hong Kong room spacious, comfortable, and stylish! every detail of this hotel is amazing. The beds were incredible and we appreciated it after a long days travel. The facilities are delightful, with a fantastic bar downstairs with an extensive menu, and a couple of eating options including the gorgeous gardens, and the Peacock room. So nice to have a place you can eat wonderfully, have a drink to unwind and then sleep. We can’t wait for our next stay when we come to Orange, there is simply no other place if you are looking for elegance and comfort.
EDWARD was the most incredible waiter. His patience, attentiveness and helpfulness were phenomenal!!! Truly a gem in the service industry. Our dessert was forgotten but he followed it up the whole time and we never felt ignored or dismissed because of him.
We paid $640 per night for our family of four 2 rooms. Yes the rooms were nice but oriana at heart is a simple motor inn. The interiors had a nice retro feel but the exteriors were fading / showing their age without maintenance. The following was not available:nReception closed from 12-4 on the day of our check-in. Only required as they had put our children at the opposite end of the motel despite there being only one other guest staying the night in the whole place.nOutdoor dining area closed.nPool bar closednNo beers on tap in the bar as there was a problem with the fridge which ‘won’t be working for ages’nNo microwave, plates etc in the roomsnnI think they justify the price of staying on the peacock room restaurant which was great but you don’t need to be staying there to dine. We have had much better experiences across Nsw at a third of the price :.
Food wasn’t wasn’t exceptional, however the standout of the evening was our waiter Edward. He was attentive, offered recommendations and performed his duties with a smile. The dessert never showed up but we continuously saw him follow up on getting it made for us.
