great menu sort of tapas inspired but larger serves can get really busy on weekends surprisingly for a large venue its not very noisy good wine selection Some wait staff very friendly and helpful, others seem to on their first night prices are reasonable given that the food quality is quite good. Some dishes are served with a smoky mayonnaise which I find quite bitter so best to ask upfront what the sauces are :
We were so glad to find this place. A real treat. Decor is stunning, the staff are pleasant and very engaging, the wine list is endless and the food is as good as we have had on recent trips to Melbourne. Prices are reasonable. Definitely worth the visit.
I stumbled upon this venue while looking for something to eat. Firstly, I was amazed at the interior - I felt like I was in an art gallery as its just stunning inside. Next, the wine list was also very impressive and well thought out. The service was impeccable and above and beyond of what you would expect from any venue the chef even fetched me wine after bringing out food. The food itself was just delicious and of excellent quality and all gluten free too. I cannot wait to bring people here and show off the gem I found.
Incredible Food and I love the Boho Decor.. Just gorgeous!! <3.. I would give this place 10 stars if I could... The food is absolutely devine, beautiful quality so yummy.. I couldn't get enough.. The staff are excellent as is the owner.. I love the decor it feels like you are in Spain... its very boho.... I highly recommend this place.. The bar is fabulous!! Such a great night out!! Everything was fabulous! Excellent for parking too. Thank you so much.
Great decor. Great food. On the pricy side. Unfortunately they don't keep their wine list up to date - we chose an earlier year wine and they just gave us one two years later without checking. They didn't care when it was pointed out, which would be fine- if they didn't make a deal about the year and charge substantially more for older vintages..
Good Food and plenty of seating. Ideal for group parties
Great service and a enjoyable night out. The food was quick to arrive and very tasty. There was a good range on the menu and staff were willing to cater for my fussy son. If you go there, see if you can get Joe to make you a cocktail at the bar, he made me a great Moscow Mule!
Had a good lunch on the hottest of days with friends we had not seen for 9 years. The duck liver parfait was sublime. Very generous servings & our waiter was v good We had a 1yr old and much tolerance was found.
Had the duck special, which was $28 which included a glass of Pinot noir. Duck was delicious and filling. Pint of Carlton on tap was very reasonably priced at $9.50, and the house pale ale at $13. Service was friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. Unobtrusive when needed and diligent in their duties. Decor was modern with an almost renaissance touch. Highly recommended. Dined on a Tuesday evening 6-8 as a table of two, 7 other tables of patrons were in the restaurant at the time. Only complaints were that it was a little loud due to the table of eight behind us, and the complimentary bread desperately needed some sea salt flakes.
If you are looking for 5 Star Mediterranean dining near the CBD you have it right here at The North Melbourne. Superb service from when you walk in to when you walk out. Food is amazing with my fave being the 12 hr slow roast lamb shoulder!! Wine list is one of the best in town with a focus on boutiques and not wines that are found everywhere in town. In all a fantastic venue and a place we will be back many times. Cheers!!
