Theatre & Performing Arts School based in Melbourne
Company is a not for profit private school which is now 75 years old. In 1972-74 they purchased the 2550 seat Victory Theatre (cinema built 1921) & converted it to a live theatre with a fly tower. Current seating 783. Schools are located downstairs in the former stalls.
The National Theatre exists to provide Australian and international students with affordable, world-class training in Ballet and Dance, Drama and Music Theatre in a dynamic, caring, non-discriminatory environment that recognises the potential of the performing arts to enhance life skills as well as provide a career.
Our Schools are complemented and supported by a versatile, professional performance space that is also available to community and educational institutions at favourable rates, enhancing our links with the City of Port Phillip, its residents and the wider community of Melbourne.
