Amazing Mex experience at The Mex! Online booking for reservation. Lovely atmosphere, friendly staff, kid friendly activities at the table activity sheet : colouring Food was fresh and amazing. Definitely value for money! Portions are generous! Loves it. Too bad it’s too far for another visit. If I’m in the area sure to dine in again. Best Nachos I’ve had!
We went to the Mex on a Tuesday night for dinner as visitors in Ocean Grove for a few days. Having a love of Mexican food we were keen to try it out and were not disappointed. The Mex is very spacious with a lot of well spaced out seating so despite not having a booking they quickly found a space for us. My strawberry daquiri was great. The food, which we ordered, were a beef burrito, beef tacos, enchiladas and beef burrito bowl were all delicious. I can highly recommend that burrito bowl and was able to take some home when I couldn't eat it all after being full. We had the churros with salted caramel sauce for dessert and it was seriously some of the best churros I have had in a long time. The winning dish of the night amongst all the great food. The staff were super friendly and helpful including our waitress Maddy who was lovely. We will definitely be coming back next time we visit Ocean Grove.

Delicious food, lovely staff, cool venue! We had the chilli con carne, buffalo wings and jalapeño poppers. Also had a jug of mojito to share. Everything was perfect.
This place is normally bopping although because of covid the happy hours in the beer garden listening to great live music hasn’t come back as yet. It is still a great place to come for a delicious feed and the frozen Margaritas of course. The staff are always fun and look after everyone well. The atmosphere is friendly, cool and very relaxed. Really great restaurant! Food was delicious, drinks were amazing and the staff were the big draw for us, we will come again. Smiles were infectious from a clearly happy team. The tacos were so good, shout out to the Fried Chicken, and the raspberry mojito, yes please!!!!!! Highly recommended and happily a 5 stars from us! Dietary restrictions: Brilliant gluten free options!
From the moment you walk in there is a beautiful ambience about this restaurant. Our waitress was very friendly and was quick to take our order. Plenty to choose from on the menu with some beautiful cocktails, food was delicious couldn’t fault it! Can understand why it is a popular venue to eat at. Parking: Easy parking at the front and rear of the restaurant! If you park at the rear, you cannot enter the restaurant from there you need to walk around to the front
We have been dining at The Mex for over 15 years and have always enjoyed the meals. It is a great family spot with a great variety of food and drinks. The service is always friendly and welcoming. Love the ribs, tacos for mains and churros is the perfect finish to a night at The Mex. Thank you for many special family moments.
Have been coming here for 20 plus years. Every time you know you are going to get the same amazing food. Never disappointing. Best Mex. Keep up the great cooking. We love it. Thankyou…oh and again the wait staff are the BEST. Every time.
Really great casual summer dining. We rocked up on 2 January in a big group at about 6:30pm without a booking and got a good table in the beer garden with grapevines and a fun mural. We enjoyed the vintage Australian indie music on the stereo. We ordered by QR code which I like I know some people don’t and a waiter came by to check if we had any questions about the menu. You could also order drinks at the bar. Meals came out promptly and portions were very generous – the burrito bowls, salads and fajitas my friends ordered looked great. Go there hungry. I’d ordered an enchilada with extra frijoles and a taco, but that turned out to be way too much food for me. Good vegie options for my vegetarian friends. I tried the frozen lemon margarita which was okay, and I enjoyed the peach margarita.
