We are passionate about good quality meat, small producers and local community and welcome you to come and see us in Kilmore East.

Story

Established in 2013 James Mele is proud to bring you The Meat Room. Artisan butchers who are mad about meat, traditional Italian food and good old customer service.

While our focus is on bespoke butchering we are passionate about where the meat comes from and where it is going. We pride ourselves on sharing our experience with you so that you may learn.

At The Meat Room we can do just about anything you want to do with beef, lamb or pork. We love to travel and meeting farmers or foodies is a driver for our passion and there is so much to learn. We love to have visitors to The Meat Room where you can share our food and produce with us too, you never know what’s coming out of our wood fired oven.

The sausage making with the guys at the meat room was one of my best food experiences. The effort James and Kathy have put into the facilities is first class. Not only did I get to make delicious sausages, these guys didn't stop feeding me all day!!! They even let me pick rocket from their garden. The wood fired pizzas, the beer and the morning refreshments are all included in the course. The capicola that James made I would have to say is close the the best cured meat I have ever eaten. Amazing. Thanks guys. Can't wait for the Salami making course to start.
