We were late to check in, but that wasn’t an issue because we received a “welcome “ text message with instructions on how to collect our room key from reception.nOur room was spacious, clean the bed was comfortable and the spa was the icing on the cake. Complimentary Port or Sherry in the lounge foyer was a lovely touch.nWe were in the heart of the Main Street, so the beach and all amenities were close. Had a great feed at the local pub The Neptune Grand Hotel which was a casual 1 minute walk away.nWe were able to park our car directly opposite our accommodation without any issues.nI have absolutely nothing negative to report about our stay here!

A worse than Fawlty Towers experience.nBooking queries on original booking, via email and text were never answered. Requested two bedroom accom was not provided and we were offered the “penthouse” with sweeping arm movements after dragging our own cases upstairs. Totally unsuitable for need travelling with work colleague. Host offered alternative accom which was totally substandard, filthy, with unlockable doors. I’m not one to complain and will usually compromise thus agreeing to look at alternative offer but this was “from the sublime to the ridiculous”.

We recently spent 7 nights in the family spa suite. The view was beautiful, the beds comfotable, the location great, the bathroom more than adequate, the staff friendly and helpful when they were present or could be located. However I do have a couple of suggestions: the room could do with a spring clean, under beds, ledges, walls etc. In the time we were there the room was not serviced and we had to take our own rubbish away, request clean towels and bin liners. One window could not be shut, one heater was faulty and scorched the powerboard, perhaps more power points would alleviate the need for powerboards. The tea/coffee making facilities were a bit tricky to use located on a lowboy, under the TVand there were only two coffee cups. The information on the booking sites and external advertising could be updated eg. Guest laundry, B&B? Overall we enjoyed our stay at the establishment as it is close to cafes, shops, walking paths and our suite had a great outlook across the water.

The room and adjoining bathroom were perfect. After a long day of travelling, arriving late at night, ease of access was super easy. And what a lovely room after a long day.  Access codes, instructions and wifi were clearly given. I could not have been more delighted with the amenities in the room and  the lovely warm and welcoming feel to the place. Will definitely visit again!

This hotel was amazing!!! We stayed in the penthouse suit room 6 for our honeymoon. Not only was this the best room we have ever stayed in, but the view was absolutely next level. Everyone was so lovely and they even gave us a complimentary bottle of bubbly to celebrate. I would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in penguin.
