The Lucky Cat
"The Lucky Cat is the Eastern Suburbs’ newest dumpling joint right on the beach packing all the mouth-watering dumplings, buns, wraps and veggies. It’s run by a Coogee local & international DJ Ben Nott so the vibes are on point. To wash down the fare here, you’ll find a sling of craft beers and cocktails like frozen negronis, gin tea and cherry blossom martinis, all backed by the smooth sounds of jazz. On the food side of things, you can pump your bellies full of BBQ pork, duck, lamb gyoza and red spicy prawns which basically translates to a big, fat and glorious food coma."

Ordered the shrimp and pork dumplings & spring roll & stir fry beef with cashews. Outstanding flavour. And ready in less than 10 minutes, Super easy, friendly staff. Can’t wait to try something else next time when we go visit Coogee again.
This hidden gem is yet to be found. I walked past then walked back to check out the menu. It's dumplings and few stir fry options with extensive cocktail menu which caught my attention. I was greeted by a nice lady and took me to my seat. There was a huge bar section. I ordered the pork and duck dumplings with Pisco Sour cocktail which is a Chilean /Peruvian cocktail. They also have Singapore Sling here which is surprising. The Pisco Sour cocktail really took me back to when I was in Chile - done perfectly. The dumplings came and it was good temperature. They have their own sesame oil herb mix so I tried it with their home made oil. The dumplings were good except for the skin it was sticky and slightly chewy, not sure what flour they used but it's not like the dumplings you get a yumcha where the dumpling skin isn't stuck to your chopsticks. There's also an upstairs area with a small balcony. Good place to try out with small group of friends and get different dishes to share.
We just fancied a meal to share, so this seemed a sensible choice. Proved to be a very good choice as the food we tried was excellent. Had one of the Bai buns to start. Should of had one each, as I think I ended up with the smaller portion. Lamb gyoza dumplings to follow with a side of chicken fried rice. Definitely be returning.
It’s kind of a bad fusion of sorts and you’re paying a premium price for it. I can’t think of a compelling reason to stop here other than to try something new/different, in which case I’d recommend to save your money and go elsewhere. Pork belly bao: ridiculously coated with sauces. Dumplings: okay, super over priced. Bruce Lee Tea: it’s an okay mild lemonade, don’t expect to be knocked out by any means.
I had such a fun night with my boyfriend, The food was amazing! And the bartender named Camilo made our night! Definitely coming back soon , is the best place to go for Locals ! Btw …. I would never say anyone how to dress , but the person who looked like the manager seemed it came out from the gym it didn’t seem professional to me But overall an amazing night and experience ! Thanks again!!
What an amazing dinner!! The service was fantastic, all the staff were smiling and attentive. The wine list was selected perfectly and both menu and wine list were very well priced. But those dumplings WOW!! Great selection and everything we had was delicious. Will definitely be back.
A very warm, welcome and fun restaurant/bar that caters for all people. Arriving quite late, the staff were very friendly and welcoming and allowed us to order food and stay and have some drinks while they cleaned up, it was very kind and amazing of them. The service was fantastic and the food was scrumptious and incredibly delicious. Shout out to all the staff for making it such an enjoyable experience. If there's one place I'm going to again and again, it is now THE LUCKY CAT <3 UNREAL experience.
Excellent place to go to start your night off, the scenery and vibe was setting off a positive vibe, they had awesome drinks and the food was delicious, Andy and Nianh had given us 100/100 customer service, overall great experience. THANKS GUYSSS
Quite possibly the coolest place to eat and drink in Coogee. Amazing food, cocktails and service. Best dumplings I have ever eaten. Bar staff and management were super entertaining. We had a fabulous dinner and boogie
We stopped here for a light lunch and enjoyed the dumplings that we ordered. We also ordered spring rolls but unfortunately some of these were slightly overcooked. There was a nice atmosphere inside and there's a good selection of drinks!
