The Lomond Hotel

About

We are a family pub with a country vibe, live music 6 nights of the week (Wednesday-Sunday) and an Irish session on a Tuesday as well

Story

Built in 1888 as The Albert Hotel, it was one of the grand hotels built in Brunswick during the land boom of the 1880’s. The early patrons were mostly workers from the Butler’s Brickyard up on Albion Street and the hotel continues to be the workers pub. Renamed The Lomond Hotel in the 1930’s, it has been run by The Neagle Family for over 30 years. They’ve brought their country heart to a city pub and it remains one of Melbourne’s last family owned and operated hotels.

honestly one of my favourite pubs ever. the staff are some of the best people to walk on mother earth. the food is all you could ever want i recommend the burgers. the atmosphere reminds you of going down the local every Wednesday with mum and dad. great music. great beer. great vibes. all around an awesome place to stop by on a Tuesday or Friday.
This place is great. It has lots of different areas for you to choose. The bistro area, the pub area, the back yard area, the sports room. The staff is very friendly as well. The food was delicious. I heard they have live music most of the nights which is great. I'll come back and try other stuffs from the menu.
An average looking joint with dark and moist environment. Seating is table and chairs shoved up against walls with the smell of Burt kitchen fat. We went see a jazz band previously encountered at another Jazz venue and they made no effort to perform well I think due to the average atmosphere of the place. The staff also had an outdated way of collecting the band entry $10 by carrying a wooden box around like at Church, and asking patrons for payment which many avoided by getting on the dance floor and looking away or leaving. I think the venue needs a good scrub n clean & paint with an updated vibe to meet today's expectation of a hygienic good vibes pub and eatery.
A cosy, warm and welcoming vibe. Bar staff were all super friendly. The singer, Kelly Auty and her band were amazing. The food is basic but tasty and priced accordingly. Drinks & food are very reasonably priced. A good night out at a good music venue. We had fun!
Great venue and great meals. Live music was terrific. Roy Darby must surely be an up and coming star in the future.Food: 4/5
Ate in the bistro section for dinner. Reasonably priced meals and good portions. Steaks were cooked as requested and the main overall was tasty. Only slightly bad aspect was the Kilpatrick oysters which had so much bacon and Worcester sauce that we couldn't taste the oysters possibly deliberately. Good alcohol choice however there's no menu because it keeps changing. Service was friendly but frantic as there was only one waitress who was run off her feet. Would return.
Great venue for music. Haven't eaten there but the food looked great.Service: 5/5
Popped in for a beer and to watch the cricket. Friendly, beer was cold, cricket was on. I was happy. Live music venue so that's a binus. Will be back to try the food!
Super friendly local pub and a wonderful music venue. Food is good with a more interesting menu than those lazy chain store pubs on the same side of town. Right on the tram line.Food: 4/5
Great venue for live music supporting all musicians and top pub feed, cold tap beer well priced. Drop in and have a Sunday Session or Fri/Sat night to see great Bands.
