I came here for a work lunch this past week, and I'm glad for that, or this may not have otherwise been somewhere I'd go to. They seated us upstairs in what can be an open air rooftop, or as in our case, a covered rooftop area with a fireplace. It was cozy and warm despite the awful weather outside. You use your phone to scan for the menu, and go up to the bar to order. The guy said the food might take a while since there was 11 orders coming in all at once, but really, it wasn't that long at all. Mine of course was one of the last seems to be a recurring theme with me but the guy was really apologetic and it wasn't a big issue. The food was delicious and filling. Generous portions for good prices. Everyone loved what they got, and even though it's a really casual, pub type of place, it was all well presented and everything was clean and made for a good lunch. I'd definitely recommend coming here whether it's in summer or winter as they cater for both, and it's in a good location with reasonably good parking. Really enjoyable.
Great venue with European inspired fit out! The bar staff are super friendly providing a great selection of craft beers that can be enjoyed in a relaxing alfresco rooftop style bar area. Great place to kick back and relax with friends, the bar is also dog friendly.
We were in the area and decided to check out their rooftop bar. Since it was Friday, they had their Friday knockoffs & Happy Hours from 4pm to 7pm, where you can get oysters til sold out for $1.50 and selected pints and house wines for $8. Very chilled-out place, with a great atmosphere and a good selection of tap beer.
One of the best parmas and pub food in Melbourne, always consistent and never disappoints. Lovely service and ambient as well! I have tried the fish and chips, burger and lamb salad as well so whatever you choose by my experience it has always been amazing, the range of craft beers is outstanding as well, it’s a great place to go with friends and family!
Just a real find, food off the chart, beer a little pricey, but possibly one of the best bars in Melbourne, staff are just some of the nicest people on the planet, I'm almost hopefully no one find out about this place, thanks guys you made our weekend.
Great selection of craft beers which rotate all the time, staff are friendly and very knowledgeable. Food is also excellent, especially steak night on a Wed, where the choice of steak rotates. Decor is very quaint and the atmosphere is always very welcoming. Highly rated.
Really enjoyed our evening at The Local Taphouse. The cider was excellent and the food was too quality. Layers upon layers of ham on the parma. So good. the only downside was waiting so long for the food to arrive. Not a place for a quick bite. Very reasonable prices.
Thankfully I only come here for the beer, which is great. The staff quality lately is shocking, though. There was a time when I could have a short conversation about the brewer or beer style before trundling off and drinking my beer while reviewing a conference paper or two. I tried doing that the other day and got a sarcastic response. The staff seem to spend most of their time staring at their phones or disappearing into the back room. They seem to resent the idea of collecting glasses or engaging the customers in conversation.
Sunday roast was freezing cold so sent it back. Was far too rare, and even heated up. There was also only one potato on the whole plate. What roast comes with one roast potato. Steak my friend had was the same. Steak comes with a really tomato salad and nothing else for 38 dollars. seriously do better !!! the bar man/ waiter was great. Took the roast of the bill and offered two free drinks. But what is going on in the kitchen?
Just dined here.. nice atmosphere.. attentive staff.. was hoping for a complete meal but was dissappointed in the lack of sides in particular salads.. 5 sides were.. Mac n cheese.. chips. Wedges. Grilled broccolini and leafy salad rabbit food.. what happened to a substantial propper mixed salad with a delicious dressing... would have given a 5 if it got that...
