"A contemporary art-space placed near the heart of historical Castlemaine, the Left Bank Gallery is home to eclectic Artist, Ron Holden. Ron moved to Castlemaine in 2017 and fell immediately in love with the Native landscape. Known previously for his surreal still life images, his current body of work mostly concerns capturing the Australian landscape and his metaphysical musings in bold and energetic colours that contrast and complement the historical gold-rush era, Oriental Bank.The Gallery is open upon request, simply ring the bell at the door, or contact Ron - 041254555."

A great new refreshing gallery in Castlemaine in one of the town's historic buildings. Ron Holden's works are bright, colourful, large and impressive and would suit those looking for contemporary art and who have the room to display the pieces. Ron is a delight to chat with. Upstairs there are works by Heather Duff - a range of limited edition prints. The Uluru series really meant something to me. All this is contained in the former 1861 Oriental Bank building which has had an outstanding restoration and adaptation.
