The Leaky Tap

About

The Leaky Tap is a characteristic Cafe, located at 43 Victoria st in Mosman Park. The theme was inspired by a much loved local Plumber, Craig Vivian

Story

THE LEAKY TAP

The name The Leaky Tap references the family business, Vivian’s & Sons Plumbing, that operated in the Western Suburbs for over 77 years.

Craig Vivian, father to The Leaky Tap owner and Australian Olympic gymnast Olivia Vivian, was a well-known plumber in the Mosman Park/Cottesloe community and this cafe is themed in honour and memory of his lifetime in the business.

It also references the many factories and businesses that were for decades the lifeblood of this suburb.

Historically Mosman Park was a major industrial centre for the State with the General Motors car and truck assembly plant (sited over the road where Iona Primary School now sits), the Colonial Sugar Refinery, The Mt Lyell Farmers’ Fertilisers superphosphate works, the WA Rope and Twine Works and the Western Australian Brushware Co, factory.

All were closed by the 1970s and most of Mosman Park is now residential.

The leaky Tap is decorated in a 'Plumbing' theme which still maintains the well-known class and high quality standards of the Mosman Park Community.

Opposite the Iona Primary School ground, the cafe is a friendly, fun and humorous place to hang out, either before, during or after school hours.

It also sits on the main street leading to Mosman Park Train station, making it the perfect take away joint for all those passing patrons and cyclist.

Come have a laugh, and enjoy the delicious cuisine and coffee The leaky Tap has to offer for Breakfast and Lunch.

We really enjoy this place....very quiet and a bit of space between tables so the dog settles a bit. Close enough to the Leighton dog beach to do in a single trip. The puppucino he devours, they sell other dog treats too. The human food is simple and simply presented but we have found a couple of breakfasts we really enjoy.
Cute little cafe. Good atmosphere and service. Enjoyed a coffee and banana cake.
A lovely place with amazing coffee, I do like that it’s dog friendly as my little one loves their unique “puppicino”, well worth checking out.
The chef is away until late November 2018 so there is no hot food at the moment. Twice we've driven here and been turned away in the past few months. There's also for sale signs plastered everywhere, so I'd say it won't be reliable any time in the near future.
Refused to take my call due to having my phone on private as they only have a mobile number or email to contact them and I dont want my number saved in their phone for anyone to take. Great way to run a business
Great burger. Dog friendly. Good people. I liked it. Worth a look
Great service, excellent coffee, yummy, healthy quiche and an inspiring chat with an inspirational young woman.
Love this place. Yummy breakfast, papers to read, sit inside or out, interesting décor with history to boot.
Only first time been here. Enjoyable coffee and staff.
