Do not come here any time before 9am! You will be blatantly ignored and not served until you ask to be, sighed at and made to feel like an overall massive inconvenience if you ask for pretty much any food item. Why even open at 7:30am if you don't have food prepared yet, and aren't able to provide a shred of customer service? This customer service level generally lasts all day, and is almost entirely delivered by the grumpy blonde lady. For such average food you would think the service would attempt to make up for it. I have been coming here for over 3 years now, and my partner many many more and this review has been relevant the entire time. Today's visit just pushed me over the edge and compelled me to write this review.
Would give no stars if I could! Seeing that arrogant rude stump of a woman first thing I'm the morning ruins my day! Food is pathetic opens at 7 but insists microwaving my pie at 8.30 most likely to throw off week old pastrys worst bakery by FAR
Bought 2 pies. One steak tomato onion and chicken mushroom. Pastry was fine and flavours were balanced. However that’s it unfortunately. Firstly, why call something steak when it is just an ordinary mince pie???? Secondly your gravy in the chicken pie was too dense and not much chicken, flour for filler much?? Sadly this is a terrible pie and to top off that the girl serving pies was outright rude, refused to print invoice but after long blank stares from me she somehow managed to print one. Hmm yeh a visit to iga may have been a wiser move. Not for us. See for yourselves
Maybe it was a bad day, but the hospitality level was negative. The grump who was struggling to repair the door handle was extremely rude when I wanted to exit after buying quite ordinary food and drink. The server was also unwelcoming, and our entire party of four felt that we had done them a major disservice by actually entering the shop. Maybe the name if the shop is appropriate.
Pies were dry and tasted old. The display cabinet was full of pies but one girl didn't know what was what and the other one rolled her eyes, said them sarcastically, slammed the door shut and walked off. Horrible experience. Definitely lazy staff at the lazy baker!
Think the name of this business is appropriate . Pies were stale , flavourless and just warm . Not a great dining experience ! Shop needs a good clean . Won't be back !
Stumbled upon The Lazy Baker with two hungry kids. We all agreed they were the best pies we had ever eaten. Cheese, bacon and steak not a usual favourite but plain was sold out, three cheese and cauliflower and a sausage roll devoured happily! I went back in and bought a family pie to take home and share with the hubby :
Pretty hopeless and rude staff. They were keen on closing the bakery rather than serving the customers. Keep avoiding this place. Did not even have jam and cream for the scones. Bad milkshake. Overall as the name suggest a pretty below average place.
I had some lovely pies here today and would definitely come back for more. The plain pie is a beautiful classic with beautifully flaky pastry and the cauliflower 3x cheese pie was scrumptious, I could definitely got a large quiche sized one of those! An awesome little country style bakery that I’ll be sure to visit on my way through again.
Quite expensive pie at $5.25, I don't mind paying more but the food needs to be elevated and this was not. Try else where
