Story

Established in 1875, The Lake View Hotel has been an iconic part of Ballarat for generations. Once one of thirteen Hotels that lined the banks of Lake Wendouree, The Lake View Hotel is the only one that remains.

As the decades have past, The Lake View Hotel has been a constant throughout the ups and downs of life around Lake Wendouree.

In August 2012, The Lake View Hotel begins a new era. Whilst respecting the significant heritage of this establishment, a complete renovation has delivered a stylish, contemporary venue to be enjoyed for many years ahead.

Great place for shift workers breakfast

We had a salad and two pizzas. The salad was ordinary and the essential ingredients that would have improved the flavour was in short supply. The pizza bases were nice but the toppings were pretty flavourless. Over priced for what we got.

Good place to dine in with beautiful lake on other side of the road

Stunning location overlooking the lake. Meal was fantastic, 3 clean plates at our table. Staff were lovely and very friendly

Amazing food. Beautifully presented with a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere. Service was so good I tipped the staff. Every visit is memorable.

Lovely place. We called with less then an hours warning to book for a party of 17, which they accommodated on the balcony. A very nice and refreshing environment. Service was good, food was lovely. We enjoyed our lunch there

Service here was great food was lovely it was a busy Friday lunchtime food ordered and came out relatively fast  and the view across to the lake was equally good.

Crispy duck was delicious. Thanks team for a great night.  The complimentary sparkling mineral water demonstrates you are doing that bit extra for your customers.
