I've been waiting for ages to visit the Keys since it was announced it was being built from a former factory/ warehouse a few years ago and now I have visited twice in the last 3 months. Even though I have yet to try the lanes at The Keys, I have enjoyed the food, drink, beer garden and general relaxed atmosphere.nBeing built in a former warehouse site, the place is sprawling and even with a large crowd size, you can find a quiet table without talking over due to noise. The staff from the door greeter up front and right through to the food and bar crew were magnificent. To enter The Keys there is no admission fee however if you want to partake in a game of bowling, there is a game fee. I had a great experience at the Keys and it is best for families, friends or even a quiet meal and drink. We stayed for about an hour but you can stay longer if you want to play a game of bowling, depending on your length of visit.
The sound of kathump as the bowling balls hit that unbeatable timber floor, and seconds later, the clatter of skittles tumbling.nSometimes catching up with grown kids looks like a quick coffee squeezed in between shifts, partners, and real life.nnLast Christmas, instead of things, I asked for time.nActual, proper, do-something-together time.nnSomewhere in passing I said, “Ten-pin bowling could be fun…”nAnd voilà, a Christmas voucher for all six of us. Cashed in this weekend nnWe spent a few happy hours at The Keys, a brilliant mash-up of old-school bowling lanes and a laid-back Aussie beer garden. Cold drinks, plants hanging from the ceiling, and that easy, friendly vibe that makes you want to stay longer.nnThe menu is deliberately tight, a smart move that keeps things moving, with generous pub classics and share-friendly snacks that do exactly what they’re meant to do between frames.nnThe boys? Absolutely brought their A-game. Strikes, spares, casual excellence.nMe? Someone who bowled a lot 40 years ago and apparently left all talent back there nBut honestly, watching your young adults step into their shine isn’t losing, it’s kind of the win.nnArcade games, a billiard table, and yes… Zoltar made an appearance obviously had to check my future .nThe beer garden on a warm summer day? Iconic. Dogs welcome. Staff genuinely lovely. Playlist? 60s–70s gold.nnGood to know:n• Parking is easy, just watch time limitsn• Kid-friendly food + birthday partiesn• Great accessibility right up to the lanesn• Solid soundtrack and relaxed crowdnnTurns out the best present really was time with a side of laughter, gutter balls, and a very good beer garden.
I recently visited The Keys for a few games of pickleball and had a really good experience overall. The venue has a great atmosphere that feels both social and well organised. It was busy but not overcrowded, and everything ran smoothly from the moment we arrived.nnThe courts were clean, well maintained, and properly lit, which made a big difference during play. There was plenty of space around the courts so it never felt cramped. Staff were friendly and helpful, making the whole process easy from booking to getting started.nnIt’s a solid spot whether you’re playing casually with friends or looking for something a bit more competitive. We’ll definitely be coming back.
This is a great place to go with a couple of mates. The vibes are amazing and it's got plenty of space to sit around and drink/eat.nnOnly reason it's not a 5 star is because the bowling scoreboard malfunctioned and I lost a turn completely due to vibrations from the other lanes.
Great service! I forgot to mention my dietary requirement when I ordered and only realised when the food was served. Without any hassle at all and any extra payment, our waiter said 'no worries' and brought me a new meal. Now that's customer service! Great staff, great atmosphere, good food. Thanks so much!
