Recently visited Waiheke from NY & had lunch for 2 at The Island Grocer and was very disappointed. Fermented juice & stale soggy sandwiches for $40.... We enquired and were told by the counter staff that they were both made the previous day.....These guys need to seriously raise their game....Charging expensive prices for 2 day old food is not customary in quality food outlets... Fresh juices need to be made fresh or they oxidise and negate the whole point of ordering a fresh juice. Sandwiches are actually quite disgusting 2 days old. This place was extremely busy and looked like they were capitalising on tourists for high profits with no regard for quality or return customers.
