i’ve been going here for a few years because i live very close and it’s always been mediocre. However, most recently i have had several experiences that warrant warning others about good clinic. First, i was charged the full amount for a short five minute telehealth consult when i advised what the issue was and knew that it couldn’t be dealt with via telehealth and required physical examination though i was not allowed to book an in person consult. i was then advised in the telehealth session that no one was available to see me in person and this is what the issue needed, and that i could go to the hospital but that wouldn’t be a good idea because i’d probably get covid. So there were literally no solutions given and i was still charged the full amount even though they could have taken one look at the appointment information and told me not to bother OR told me that there was no one to see me and the issue would need physical examination which i knew already. Then, for a different issue i needed to see a specialist and ended up needing a surgery. i had to advocate for myself to go to a private clinic because the doctor put me on a waitlist for public without giving me any other options and the wait was going to be an undetermined amount of time after a year on the list. Then i had the surgery and afterwards the hospital advised for me to get the doctor to fill out a form to try and claim for my insurance which would literally take five minutes. The staff at the clinic said that they would forward the form and then after months of following up and hearing nothing the doctor insisted that i book an appointment to fill in the form even though they had all of the information on their systems. so i had a five to ten minute consult and am being charged the full charge for the doctor to fill in a form. she then said that she would email the form to my insurance company and copy me in but never did it. and now i’ve been waiting months and months and my insurance company say they will close my claim because they haven’t got the forms yet. all i can say is that i’d rather return anywhere but here even though it’s a stones throw away from my house, and i would never see Nelum Soysa again.
I can’t speak to the other reviewer’s experiences but I have only had really positive interactions with the doctors and nurses here. Sometimes emailing of results can be a little slow but the doctors themselves are superior, empathetic and take their time if needed. In particular, Sophie Mancey-Jones has provided excellent care.
I have been going here for around 3 years. Dr Monica and Chloe helped me get to the bottom of a health issue that had been going on for years. The past two times I have dealt with this clinic the reception staff have been rude and unhelpful. Today I had a staff member try to charge me an unexpectedly high charge for a 3 minute teleconsult, when I queried the charge I was met with aggression and intimidation leaving me feeling absolutely awful and silly. Unfortunately I will not be returning even though the doctors are wonderful the front desk staff are too intimidating and rude.
Reception staff unhelpful. Was charged $148 for a medical certificate where the doctor checked my tension, my height and my weight - did not take over 15 minutes - yet the receptionist told me I stayed in there for over 25 minutes. The doctor went on in an informal conversation with me, fully knowing I would be charged more for the extra time. Very indecent. Never got a reply to my email to solve this situation I found unfair.
The doctors here are excellent, however the administration is absolutely appalling. I've had two disappointing incidents in the 18 months I was a patient here: Firstly, I was on my way to an appointment for an invasive procedure and called to let them know I was running a bit late. They then told me the procedure would not be able to go through that day as the nurse had called in sick, however they had not recorded my details correctly and although a booking was there, they didn't actually know who to call to notify. I found this to be grossly disorganised as if I hadn't of phoned them myself I would have arrived at the clinic for my appointment only to be turned away. However they did compensate me eventually so I accepted this as an isolated oversight. I attended an unrelated appointment some time later where I was erroneously overcharged. This was only made evident to me when I received notification from medicare that they couldn't define this excess charge and hence could not give me my rebate. I called the clinic and they assured me they would look into it. I recieved an email from the practice manager telling me he would also look into it. From then on I heard nothing. I made multiple calls and addressed the issue on a follow up consult, still no resolution. I emailed the clinic on two separate emails I could find, both resulted in automated messages telling me they weren't received. On a further follow up consultation 5 months later I addressed the issue again and only then was I rudely presented a refund form by the manager as though it was my fault I hadn't signed it, when no mention of it was made previous to this. In the following weeks I still did not receive my money, and I was once again notified by medicare that my most recent consult had not been put through correctly. At this point over $300 of my money was being withheld due to the clinic's incompetency. It took numerous further phone calls that were met with confusion and dismissal before I finally recieved my total money back about 6 months after the initial consult. I never received a formal apology and I assume had I not pushed the issue they probably never would have dealt with it. I would expect a medical practice to hold the trust of there patients to a higher esteem. I definitely will not be attending again.
This clinic can be hit and miss. I saw one really good Dr. there others seem to be not that great just read results off a paper without going into details of results. Very unorganised and a bit quick to charge big amounts of money. Would not recommend them if your sensitive.
I have been taking my family to The Integrated Medical Centre for over a year now. Both GPs have been great to us. They have made an effort to understand our needs rather than rushing us through. Pathology services have also been nice. It may sound strange but I now enjoy going to the Doctor. Highly recommended.
We have been asked to adjust this review by the Office Manager and describe what has happened up to now. We have NOT adjusted our over all star rating of 1 Star but only removed some individual names. Overall this center let us down big time and some of the practices of the office manager are inappropriate once you leave a negative google review we could only get our results once we meet in person + discuss the google review What happened? I had a very bad experience because an important positive test result during pregnancy was not communicated to us. This delayed the treatment unnecessarily - and the main reasons given to us was that a nurse was sick for 7 days. Even though we followed up several times noboday felt responsible to communicate the result to us asap. During pregnancy this is just unacceptable. Not only that, we also had issues with the coordination of the Hospital Royal Women. This meant that we attendend an appointment with a doctor at the Royal Women and then they just send us back because we needed an up to date blood test. Apparently, this is standard procedure. The Integrated Medical Centre wasnt very helpful and blamed the hospital for being at fault. Therefore we were charged another $80 for the blood test which we got refunded later one How have they tried to solve the situation? We wanted nothing to do with this Center anymore and just wanted to get our final blood result via email. The Office Manager did not want to give us the blood result until we come and see him in person and discuss the google review. We discussed it but he only reluctantly gave us the results because we said we wont change the review again we had to follow up!. In the end they refunded us $80 for the blood test mentioned above. We just got contacted on 17 August with the ask to change this review. We have adjusted the review and only took out individual names. We are now with a different GP and haven't looked back - We cannot recommend this center at all. Don't waste your time and money.
appointments ran late on both occasions: first visit was 30 minutes late was assured it is not usually like this, spent 5 mins with the Dr and was charged $80. Second visit I waited 25 minutes and when I enquired at reception how long it'll be I was told the dr was only seeing the patient before me. Didn't see the point in scheduling a time if one cannot keep it. Given some patients may take longer, surely you'd think the practice have some sort of system set up to allow doctors catch up time, and staff trained to inform patients when they arrive that appointments are running late instead of making us wait uninformed. I'd expect these sort of things to happen from a bulk billing practice or hospital due to volume but when you're charging someone for a professional service the expectation is that you get the basics right.
I can't speak for other people's experiences but I've found Dr Conway to be excellent, staff have been friendly and I'd have no concern about recommending coming here to anyone. Not sure how others seem to have had such a different experience but I saw the google review score and based on my experience I don't believe it to be an accurate reflection on the staff I've dealt with.
