Favorite place to go after taking the pup to kakamatua. Great burgers and ice cream. Friendly staff. And they love dogs! They have a restroom and a cute courtyard. Highly recommend. We go at least once a month.
Lovely place to stop and relax.plenty of seating inside and outside.If too busy, pop across the road to the tables by the bay.coffee was strong, great, wedges were hot, and tasty, plum sauce a nice addition. service is polite, and friendly, not too long a wait. the place has history, and Im assuming a mix of a local ice cream store, cafe, meeting place, even a book hire/sale venue. Reconmended for those lucky enough to visit Huia, one of the nicest spots in Auckland.
Disappointing experience. First time to the Huia Foodstore. Have driven past a few times and always looks inviting. So today after a long walk it was the day When got inside things changed - The guy at the till was wearing a hoodie over his head. No greeting or smiles. Seems as those all staff did not want to be there. Bought a one scoop Tip Top ice for $4 and was the smallest cone ice cream I have had in my life. Total rip off. The guy doing the ice cream had no idea how to roll a scope of ice cream. Heard from a friend that this place used to be awesome but since new owners has gone down hill.
A great little vintage shop with great cutlery set. The food is amazing and unique from others. A nice little spot to have some coffee or brunch while in the area
Stopped over for some Tip Top after checking Whatipu Beach, cute little cafe. Great ice coffee with real espresso shot and not like those milky types, would definitely come back and order another one!
Lovely Kiwi experience, made an unplanned stop here on a drizzly winters day. The hot chips were awesome and went down a treat. Plan to return soon.
Had the most amazing steak burger here. Great coffee Staff are quite friendly. Lovely destination. Sometimes when a place is the only option they don't try but here they really do. When i was stuck on my motorbike with no cell phone once they let me call my wife from their land-line several times. Very kind.
The Huia Foodstore is a great destination for a casual lunch - never fail to deliver a top notch burger or fish n chips their chips are lovely and chunky! Can be noisy on weekends / public holidays obviously But if you get the timing right it’s wonderfully quiet and relaxed! More than reasonably priced for the excellent quality food. We were there today and there was a minor mix up with our order which was quickly and efficiently resolved by the waiting staff. Delicious every time!
Was okay. I ordered the crispy chicken burger and got a premade frozen then cooked chicken patty, not what I was expecting for $15. My friend enjoyed the fish burger but it had too much greens. His chips came no sauce. Wedges were nicely cooked, plum sauce was not my cup of tea. Very cute and cozy place. Staff were very friendly.
I was waiting in front of cashier to order but 2 staff smiling & talking each other and one of them who was making coffee looked at me but didn't even smile. 3rd one took my order without smile and when I received items I paid I did take away I said Thank you and he didn't say a word neither smile. I enjoyed last time.. so I was really disappointed this visit... I won't come back. I still give stars coz food was fine
