Ripper experience. Hired the post hole digger and it made easy work of digging 10 holes about a metre deep.  Reasonable pricing, helpful staff, convenient location and an easy hire process.  Although I like purchasing tools for myself, I think moving forward it may be smarter for me to hire tools that I’ll infrequently use and The Hire Guys will be my go to.

Disgusted. 1st time customer. Hired a ladder for 4hrs which gave me til 3pm. Returned before 2pm. They close at 1pm on Saturday! I was not told this otherwise i would have returned it 50mins earlier. Had to pay full day rate. Complained to manager to no avail. I wonder how many other 1st time customers have fallen into this trap?

If you ever hire anything from these guys please make sure you test the handbrake before they fit it to your vehicle, or any other safety device associated with the equipment.  Today I hired a Brian James car trailer, one of THG's employees fitted it to my vehicle. I drove it to my workshop, to load my drift car and found that even when fully engaged the handbrake wasn't locking up the wheels wasn't engaging the brakes at all. I called and spoke to Greg unfortunately, who was quite bitter and arrogant over the phone. Shocking attitude, no responsibility taken but straight onto the offensive.  No brakes on a trailer towing 3 Ton is a safety hazard, whether Greg likes to admit it or not. He will blame you straight away, he told me I left the handbrake up even though his employee fitted the trailer to my vehicle. The handbrake on these trailers works alongside the main braking system of the trailor so the handbrake not working also meant no brakes operational.  On drop off, Greg found out the handbrake to be down and the brakes non -operational which he couldn't care less about his reponse was along the lines of "unlucky" and "nothing I can do about it".  All this after booking it 2 weeks in advance, please deal with extreme caution.  EDIT: In regards to Greg's reply, there's multiple holes in his story. If someone left the handbrake up wouldn't the tyres be flat spotted and the brakes blue from the heat, do they not check their equipment when it's returned especially safety devices? Why do you think it's good that you gave me a full refund for a defective good, I just think that's the right thing to do especially since you wouldn't go out of your way otherwise.

Not bad rates, although they didn’t follow through with the half day rates advertised on there website and confirmed during the booking over the phone. Otherwise it was a good product and service.

I would like to thank Greg and Paul with a carburettor part they supplied to me, in order to get my Honda 2KVA generator going again. I did go to a Honda agent but it was going to be 2 weeks on back order. They are a very professional team and nothing is too much trouble. Great work guys !!

Genuine blokes who go out of their way to help.  I've repeatedly been let down with unreliable gear from 2 different large chain outlets.  A refund and a free one next time doesn't cut it!!  HG's yard is a bit old and the gear is not all shiny new but it's meticulously maintained and I happily drive an extra 20kms knowing I'll get my jobs done the first time.
