Can you say hidden gem? Because this place certainly is. Nestled away in the historic antiques village in Tyabb, you'll need to head through the main antiques warehouse and through the bookshop into this beautifully cosy cafe. All im going to say is the food was amazing, the staff and decor were lovely alongside the rustic smell of an antique bookshop. We were so wrapped to find this place and would certainly come here again.
Whether or not you like antiques, be sure to find your way to the back of the Tyabb Packing House to visit the Hart of Tyabb! With friendly prompt service, high quality, very tasty food and awesome coffee this café is an oasis well worth visiting! Particularly impressive was the salted caramel and apple crumble, topped with a scoop of vanilla icecream. Served warm, the distinctive salted caramel flavours blended beautifully with firm, slices of cooked apple and a crumble that didn't overpower the rest of the ramekin. Delicious!
Disappointed by the lack of hygiene. My glass of drink had lipstick on the glass, I wasn't wearing any lipstick. This was the second dirty glass we picked up today. Knives weren't really clean either. I won't be recommending to anyone, so disappointing.
Unfortunately not a great experience today. Slow service, only average food and ended up not staying around for coffee as took too long. Only thing going for it is convience to people at the antique place.
Tony Hart and his staff at The Hart of Tyabb are a delight. The staff, their attitude and attentiveness is a joy and it tells in the way they perform their responsibilities and service us, their clients.I will on his next trip to Australia take my dear friend from London Laurance Isaacson CBE for lunch at The Hart Of Tyabb.I have no doubt Laurance will enjoy the home made sausage rolls which i consider SPECIAL.Do goggle if you are un-familiar with the name Laurance Isaacson. My pumpkin soup was extremely pleasant followed by the home made Sausage roll and the complementing sauce which has its surprises for your taste bud's.Delighful and relaxing and i will return sooner than later.
We shall be back, what a great way to find a cafe, stumbling through the musty smell of antiques, then delicious smells of the cafe. Thankyou and see you soon
Food is reasonable but rather over-priced. Service is average. I won't recommend it to friends
