A friend and I visited Friday 08/08/2025 in the evening for dinner. We went through to the bistro and were a bit disappointed in the bleak atmosphere. I'm a person that enjoys a warm inviting atmosphere, and this was not it. Horrible power saving white lights everywhere, it looked more like an office than an inviting pub. The front bar looks great and inviting, and we wished we'd stayed there for meals, but it was a bit noisy. A few cheap changes could make the rear bistro much more inviting and warm. In saying that, we went to the Goody to eat. We settled on pub faves, schnitzels with garlic bread for starters. My friend had a Chicken Schnittie and I had the beef. Very nice, but they look to be 'bought in' portion controlled schnitties rather than hand made in the kitchen. Good tasty, basic pub food. Nothing to write home about, but nothing to complain about. Now, if they could just fix that atmosphere, people might be inclined to stay after eating and enjoy another wine or two.
Had a catch up dinner with ex work colleagues. Since it was a large group we were given the private room. That enabled us to talk freely and more around with ease. It was a great night.
I was impressed when I walked into the hotel, it has a bright and airy atmosphere with big windows.There were also chairs outdoors where you can sit and have a quiet chat away from the noise.The food was good and well presented. Nice clean toilets and easy access. It's not far from the Capri Movie Theatre.
We regularly frequent The Goody Bistro and The Goodwood Pub, on Goodwood Rd and I have to say the service and food are exceptional. This is the kind of food Mum makes in her kitchen. The roasts are the best we've tasted out anywhere. The steaks are always done to your satisfaction and they are top quality and the Schnitzels would rival any German restaurant. The staff are friendly and efficient, delivering food and clearing tables in a timely manner. Great value for money. Well done.
We ordered Chicken burger & Southern Fried Chicken Strips main size. Exceptional value for money. The chicken is great quality and really tasty.nnFood was served quickly despite busy/lunchtime. Service at the bar/beer garden was great very friendly and attentive.
