Used to come here a bit after the Willunga markets and always loved the food. We came today looking for somewhere to eat that we haven’t been to at all or not recently. They updated the look of the menu which is nice to see. We went with the Fleece Eggs with the Ellis bacon with additional Thyme Mushrooms and we also went with the Fleece Brekky Roll, both of these dishes were lovely and very tasty. We both got a Chai latte and they were very nice. Food came out at a reasonable time and wasn’t waiting too long. The people who served us were very lovely and kind. And I’ve always loved that they used animals are distinction on what table is being served. Will be back eventually!
Nice cafe located in Willunga, the outdoor seating is nice and sheltered from the sun. The 'Fleece Stack' is well balanced with the saltiness of the bacon, creaminess of the egg and avacado and the freshness of the sour cream and tomato, the home made potato rostis are a nice touch too. Good serving size and excellent value for $16 at a cafe. Definitely suitable for lunch, but also breakfast as its not too greasy or heavy. The veggie foccacia is also great value at only $12 and generous with fillings, very tasty! We also tried the lemon slice, definitely goes well with the cream provided, but I imagine it would go really well with a coffee or tea. Worthwhile stopping here if you're in Willunga!
Seemed like a cute, quirky cafe. Prices and menu were good. However, when our meals came out both my partner and I found a hair! Didn't say anything as sometimes these things happen but then my partner started eating his big brekkie to find that the toast was stale and cold, the poached eggs very overcooked AND, baked beans were cold and to top it off there was an egg shell in the meal! We don't normally make a fuss out of these things, especially being hospo workers ourselves, but the way the older lady handled the complaint and talked to us was not professional at all. Instead of dealing with the problem she instead denied that it happened and that they very rarely get complaints when I was clearly holding the egg shell and hair in my hands! Offering a free cake after she'd arked up and given us horrible attitude was not enough to make up for the poor quality meal. All in all, service was lacking, cleanliness and professionalism abysmal and you'd have a better brekkie at the cafe across the road.
Wife and I popped in today, two days after Christmas. What a fun and interesting cafe! The staff actually interact with customers, chat and talk. Decor is based around Golden Fleece of 1960s era, and gives the place a cool vibe. Food good value, cooked in a timely manner and enjoyable. We'll be back
Lovely place to have a coffee and the food was perfection. The staff all very welcoming and friendly. Also they are dog friendly. Well done
a gorgeous cafe menu with gorgeous staff that work here . Polite, friendly, professional. Service with a smile . Food is simple but never disappointing. Well worth the visit . We have visited many times . The coffee and homemade cakes are superb. The breakfasts are generous and meals beautifully presented . I have referred family and friends to this Willunga cafe and they have been delighted also . Vegetarian options: veg friendly
Wonderful experience at the Golden Fleece. Super yummy food at very reasonable prices, really friendly staff and lovely atmosphere. Fantastic cafe!!!
A cute little cafe with a retro style fitout. According to my husband, the best apricot slice he's ever had. The orange almond cake was pretty good too. Despite it being very busy, service was fast and friendlyFood: 5/5
Staff were unwelcoming beyond the minimum level. Eggs way overcooked, bread simultaneously burnt and stale. Eggshells and hair were found in 2/3 meals. Food was only warm upon delivery. Staff didn't believe us when we complained. Coffee was average.
What an interesting find! Had their fleece stack with Salmon and freshly made scones. Let me say that I moan when eating their scones. So good! and their stack is tasty and proportinate in taste and size.
