Awesome shop! Friendly and accommodating owners, superb pies and completely worth the drive 1.5hr return trip. Flavoursome, chunky pies that emphasise home-cooked quality and top-notch ingredients. Give them a go and support a worthy family-run business!
Never thought I would be saying this about goat pies but these are hands down the best pies in Brisbane in my opinion. The only thing stopping me from going every week and giving a higher rating is that while every pie is of the highest quality not every one is to my taste. Sometimes it seems many weeks and sometimes months go past before I spot that some of my favourites have made it back on the rotational menu. There are some I have been hoping to taste since I discovered GPG about 2 years ago and just keep missing out. Otherwise would be 5 stars.
We are visiting Manly south of Brisbane and just picked up a couple of pies from the Saturday market. The Cider Pork Pie was probably the best pie I've had so really looking forward to the goat pies next meal...who can wait that long. You rock Pie Guy. Its a pity you're so far from where we live.
The pies are really good. Limited choices ensure quality and givd you the opportubity to try a flavour you normally wouldnt. Havent had a pie i didnt love here yet. Beers on tap have been right on the mark as well Mick knows his pies
These pies are basically heroine wrapped in pastry. Once you eat one... you are an addict. They should come with a warming that the juicy chunks of meat will enslave you and that no othsr pie will ever be acceptable after eating one of these. If you are the kind of person that enjoys a pus filled blood plasma bag of diarrhea... do not eat here. These pies are for the connoisseurs who enjoy meat and lots of it. You have been warned.....
Delicious pies left, right and center. However, not many beer choices, but really this is not a problem for my Friday afternoon at the end of the working week.... A piece and a beer at a quiet place with nice company. You can't beat it :
Have been going to him at the markets for a couple of years now and have never been disappointed with any of his pies. His selection of pies is huge and would cater for any taste. I keep asking him for a rabbit pie, but he won't.
If you can catch them before they're sold out make sure you stock up. Great product!
I first tried the deluxe goat pie 4 years ago and raved to everyone about it. It has been 2 years since I have had one. But sadly was let down by the service of the owner telling us it would be the same experience after noticing pie and pastry were of a different style/composition. And then to find out we were right the pastry is dry and not moist and the filling is now filled with gelatin that was not present before.
Heard alot of great things about the goat pie guy. Unfortunately all attempts to eat one of these things have been tharwted. First, out of stock, second the pies were frozen. If I want a pie I want to eat it fresh out of the oven cooked by pros.
