A great find whilst on holiday. Searched local pubs for a quick dinner nearby. It was just past 8pm and whilst others stopped food at that time, this pub was 9pm and they booked a table for us straight away. I took my 10 year old daughter and young dog - both got a lot of attention. They are very dog friendly and also good choice being I am vegetarian - especially Sunday roast. There was a singer performing and she was really good. Staff were very friendly. Food was great. Had such a good time, we booked for a Sunday lunch the next day and had the same experience. As we are nearby often, it will be a regular choice. I would definitely recommend.
We only ended up here because the pub we had intended to use has stopped offering food. But we are now glad we have discovered this out of the way gem! Excellent home cooked meals at a sensible price, good beer Wadsworth's, and friendly service. We will definitely continue to come here when we meet up with our friends as a half way point, and only wish we lived nearby!
Lovely atmosphere, really welcoming. We were staying locally at Spot in the Woods for one night for a short break and this pub was walking distance so we popped in for some food and drinks, really reasonably priced for food and food quality. Will definitely visit again if in the area!
The car park was full when we arrived on a Tuesday evening and we regretted not pre booking. We could see it was very busy with all the tables taken but the very friendly staff suggested we sat down in the relaxing area while she got our drinks. Luckily for us a table became free and we were able to enjoy the amazing food and very helpful, delightful staff. Absolutely delicious - thank you. We will certainly be returning but will book next time.
Have had a lovely weekend in village. Ate and drank in the pub a few times while staying. Food had been superb and staff were all fab and so welcoming
absolutely cracking, dinner was filth.incredible selection of lager, i was spoilt for choice. nice clean and tidy environment, gorgeous garden. And all round splendid experience. i would recommend for anyone that wants to eat out somewhere nice. And i will be coming be coming back .P.S Kerry Wolfe has done it again.
We hadn't been here for some years and I believe the name and ownership has changed but we were really impressed by our whole experience from the start. A very friendly lady took our booking on the phone and reserved us a table in the dog friendly part of the restaurant. Our food was excellent and we all found several options on the menu that we fancied before changing our minds and ordering from the specials board. I requested a slightly different side and they did this for me with no problem. There were quite a few people in watching football on TV but it was a nice atmosphere, the beer was excellent and we all enjoyed our meals. Everything came out together and correct, all the staff were lovely to us and I'd highly recommend it to anyone. Many thanks for a great evening :
Lovely pub, great food, nice atmosphere, exceptionally friendly staff. We were staying in a nearby hotel and fancied a pub supper. Because they have no functioning web site, generally indicative of poorly managed companies and a Facebook page which appeared inactive for some years, I almost decided to go further afield, but we thought we’d look in and we were glad that we did. When we arrived, there were many steam vehicles and machines in the field, which was fun. We had the Pie of the Day which was Chicken, Gammon and Leek, with chips and salad. We really enjoyed it, very tasty. I had the scrumptious Apple Crumble with cinnamon and custard. My partner had the Champagne Sorbet which was very nice and refreshing. There were some promising-looking real ales, but I can’t drink alcohol now. The only low/no alcohol option was Heineken, which wouldn’t be my first choice. We enjoyed the meal so much that we came back again the next night, Saturday. Due to a large party eating at the rear of the pub, they were only able to serve pizzas and salad, but they were good pizzas. The dessert menu was also available. There was a good covers band, but it was painfully loud in the small space. We go to a lot of gigs and festivals and this was louder than most, even when near the stages. I already have severe tinnitus, presumably from too much loud music in my younger days, and I don’t wish to worsen my hearing loss. I felt sorry for the musicians and people close by, who may have that to look forward to. Luckily, I had ear plugs with me and this bought it down to a reasonable level.
Absolutely fantastic....Great food staff and beer ....recommend to all ...Will definitely be back
Love my local pub! proper class atmosphere. Beautiful black hound behind the bar, I think I overheard them call her Tia. Food is absolutely astonishing and the staff are so lovely. Chef Keith Frampton is absolutely world class and I was over the moon. Kerry Wolfe, land owner, has really outdone herself here.
