We shared the fisherman's basket and it was very good. So many chips and those crunchy outside and soft in the middle chips. Good variety in the contents with cod, calamari, special fish bites and prawns. Reasonable price of $26. You will wait a while as it's  all freshly cooked. Decent seating too.

Great display of fresh seafood. I had grilled fish and a Greek salad for lunch and it was delicious and well seasoned. I’ll come back and order a wine while I wait for my order next time!

We enjoyed a crunchy, fresh Sunday lunch at Hawthorne Seafood Markets which did not disappoint! After seeing that they make gluten free, coeliac friendly fish and chips, we had to go and try! Although I’m not gluten free, my partner and I shared an entirely gluten free spread which was cooked to perfection! You would have no idea it was gluten free and I would even say it could be better than the normal batter as it’s lighter! The grilled fish was my favourite, chips serving was so generous we weren’t able to finish them all and the oysters were so fresh! Not to mention there was 20% off fresh seafood! Will be back for sure!

Very big portion of chips. The fish was very fresh and flaky. Calamari rings, scallops and prawns were beautifully fried as well. Just wished they had more accessible vinegar and salt. They only had one on the corner inside pick up area. But overall was very tasty.

Excellent seafood and gluten free options! They even have a separate gluten free fryer. Best fish, chips and calamari I’ve had in ages, we’ll definitely be back.

I get my fish and chips every week now and there hasn't been a time that it has disappointed me. Absolutely great! And the staff delightful as well !

Dine-in experience We had a wonderful dine in experience here - the seafood is cooked, seasoned and presented beautifully.  We loved the salt, pepper & garlic calamari and the Tahitian lime & coconut marinated griller snapper was amazing.  It is a little pricey - but it is a step up in quality from your average fish & chip shop.  The staff here are super friendly and BYO for $3 per head is a bonus!  24 October 2019 Beautifully cooked fish & chips - nicey but pricey My husband and I dropped in for takeaway on a Sunday evening and ordered grilled salmon, crumbed barramundi Japanese panko crumbs, chips and a green papaya salad.  Everything was really delicious and the fish was cooked to perfection!  The only reason I am marking it down is because it was expensive in relation to the size of the portions small.

My first experience eating at the Fishmonger's Wife. We enjoyed the fact it's situated in the Hawthorne eatery hub but off busy Hawthorne Rd. On a winter's day we chose a warming sunny table location. My grilled snapper was very nice. Licensed venue also a bonus. Service was friendly and efficient. I'd definitely enjoy returning.

Excellent pick up option in Hawthorne! Both barramundi pieces were fantastic - crispy skin intact and melt in your mouth inside. Chips, Asian slaw and some calamari were all great. Will be back again for sure.

Huge gluten free menu available and they do it well. They have lots more than what Fishmongers wife used to offer. We call ahead and pick it up and its great and very convenient
