Great place to share your favourite seafood with friends and/or family. I personally went for the classic Crumbed Cod and Chips and wasn't disappointed at all. Golden Crumbed and just a nice serving of chips. Cod was moist and filled with flavour. Mightn't be a big thing, but I liked how customers were able to choose/add Chicken Salt to their own meals. The decor and settings was pleasant with nice ambient music that filled the eating area inside nicely. The ordering staff were very helpful, friendly with HUGE smailes and advised/suggested what was good to have or what the recommendation was for the day. The seating was clean and inviting and the odd wandering seagull through the cafe, really added to the, 'by the sea' vibe. It is wheelchair friendly and the cafe has a side smaller cafe area that caters for your more general 'short order' meals. There is fresh seafood section to invest in, if you want as well. Toilets are just around the corner from the cafe, which seem to be public and cater for all that visit the local water park nearby. If your after a well priced and casual dining experience on the Broadwater, then give The Fish Shack a try, you won't be disappointed.
Very good chips served with the cooked seafood. Got two of the sets, which aren't cheap but the quality of the seafood makes up for it, the calamari in particular were very nice. Having this fresh makes a difference and we were fortunate to get one of their benches next to the window in the seating area which also had ceiling fans to keep the place feeling cool even on a sunny day.
The Coffee here is incredible. Such a hidden and unexpected place to enjoy a cuppa. The Chilean barista is awesome.
The fish burger was so good that we went back a second time to get it again. Firstly, during a time when so many places skimp off in terms of both quality and quantity, it was so good to see somewhere provide good quality fish and of a good serving size too! Plus, the pickles and tartare sauce in there were seriously so good! Would highly recommend
Where do I start?!! Seriously the best and highest quality seafood packs you’ll ever have! Lobster roll - WOW! I really wish I didn’t have to share mine haha it was perfect! Prawn skewers were my fave from the fisherman’s catch pack - Awesome kick with seasoning and tender. Fresh chips!! Love love love. My only criticism with the fish batter is that it was a tiny bit bland! I didn’t take a pic of the the trailer park fries we ordered for the trip home but OMG!!! This is how you LOADED FRIES.. that smoked gravy with the cheese sauce…. I was seriously in heaven. Best EVER!!! I live in Brisbane but I will definitely be making a trip again. Amazing seafood food gem
Great for lunch while at the rock pools. Kids calamari and chips was great value and tasty. Battered prawn and scallops are great. Catch of the day was a very solid fish and chips.
Way below average.. - Service, touch and go, they definitely make you feel like you're a burden - Wait time is a little too long for basic deep fry fish and chips - Value for money, definitely not, can't justify $30 for a fillet of snapper med chips takeaway. Chips were nice and crispy, but batter on the fish was too thick, soggy and gooey in the inside. - Wondering how on earth can "Catch of the Day" be an imported fish? Correct me if I'm wrong, but anything "of the day" is a daily special, let alone calling it Catch of the day when it's been farmed and harvested months/years ago and held in deep freezers? P.S. assuming "Catch of the Day" is basa farmed vietnamese catfish?
Lovely little fish and chip shop by the water side. Beautiful, friendly staff. Good food. Great selection of seafood options. Grab take out and sit by the water, or eat in and enjoy the views. Amazing food.
The fish and chips are tender and delicious in a thin and crisp batter. Not the best I have ever had, but certainly worth a visit. The batter is clean, but a bit bland in my opinion. Not that batter has a taste, but it's one of those substances that kind of makes or breaks the fish.The chips were all right and cooked perfect. A little expensive but convenient place from broadwater parklands.
Waited 50 mins for this and then my order was lost outta the system because something about changing the paper and got nothing for my time and not even an apology. The food was just ok. Nothing special
