Only had brunch here but keep coming back because the chefs have real pride in their work. Nailing crispy bacon is a challenge they always get right. Virtually always stay for a second cup of coffee post-meal.
Delicious food, excellent service, and a great venue. The menu was limited for savoury choices, and if you want to get extra sides one dish can get costly. The zucchini fritters were amazing but the portion size was just not enough. A large coffee is also small in comparison to most places.
Very friendly waitress. Average coffee but not happy with the food. The green was covered in dust and seems like it’s been sitting there for days before it come to the plate. Maybe that’s why the roots are growing already.
Good coffee, tasty food. Very small pancakes
Lovely little place, consistently good, friendly efficient staff. Offered Egg and bacon, hold the roll with spinach, delicious
Their pancakes were absolutely terrible, it seemed like it was just heated up in the microwave and was a month old. Very hard. Had to send them back. Lucky, they offered a replacement. My partner’s eggs beni has this strange pulled pork mix that just didnt go well with the dish and the eggs were overcooked. Prices are quite high compared to the quality. When we sat down at our table, staff forgot to bring us our table water. Staff were nice and kind although there’s room for improvement. Overall, would not return here.
Wow! What a gem! We found this in the Entertainment Book and thought, what's in Glandore? Anyway we trotted on down this arvo to check it out. My wife, son and I had a great customer experience. The establishment is well maintained, with a bright and warm atmosphere. We were greeted with a smile bonus points for that! We shared the Moroccan lamb salad and the salmon omelette with haloumi, whilst our son had egg and bacon with toast. We asked for our son's egg to be hard-boiled instead of poached. It came out poached too soft for him. The staff managed the situation very well - removing the egg and allowing our son to continue eating the bacon and toast, whilst the replacement egg was cooked. This averted a tantrum, which is VERY important! The meal was delicious all round. The staff were very friendly and attentive. It was great to see a variety of books, toys, colouring books and pencils stocked in the children's area. Our son thoroughly enjoyed reading the books. He thought it was the 'library cafe'! We live nearby and will definitely make 'The Empty Bottle Cafe' a regular for lunches and afternoon teas. Looking forward to our next visit!
This is a really cute and quaint little restaurant next to the Beckman St. tram stop in the back streets of Glandore. The food is delicious with generous serves and reasonably priced. The drinks menu is extensive and also reasonably priced. The staff are super friendly and efficient - and its a great place to take your dog.
How to cost your business $1560 over a $22 plate of food Weekly visitor to this cafe for nearly a year. Food is ok, if a little inconsistent and the staff are friendly. It's closest to me but not the best; a compromise. Today, the bacon with my poached eggs resembled a charred inner sole from a teenagers kicks; inedible. Easy fix, throw the whole dish in the bin and start again. Instead I'm offered more bacon, but that takes time. Poached eggs are a eat now dish or it's ruined. So I eat the eggs and no sign of more bacon, no refund and no more custom from me. Average weekly spend by this customer is $30 x 12 months = $1560 of easy revenue gone from above the line income. Short sighted kitchen decision and no communication from front of house to make kitchen understand the situation. Too many other cafes around to run your business like this.
This lovely, spunky café is a great weekend spot for breakfast or lunch. The serves are good sized without being excessive, the tea range is nice and the coffees are good. The Benedict is worth a try - a unique twist! Every salad and sandwich I've had has been good. Haven't been for wine, beer and pizza on a Friday or Saturday night but I suspect that's also a winner.
