I am not a dumpling office do but these were very yummy cheap and the jasmine tea good. Could improve on cleanliness but for a quick stop and light lunch very good. Cost $
Excellent food. We particularly liked the boba and dessert options. Dumplings were a bit ugly to look at but tasted amazing, with a great filling to dough ratio. Chili oil and soy sauce as well. Green tea was wonderful and not too hot or cold. Nothing to complain about with the food. But it was very loud and crowded, the music was playing so loud you could hardly hold a conversation without shouting and the floor was sticky. Our order got mixed up and we were politely kicked out early to seat new customers. For some it would add to the experience, but be warned it will be very busy and loud. Would recommend reservations, particularly for busy times. Vegetarian options: A few vegetarian options one for each section of the menu Kid-friendliness: There were kids there, definitely kid friendly if you don't mind someplace loud but no high chairs or play area.
Journal of Jai was here -a microinfluencer in NZ! A lovely asian space in the heart of the city. They have a wide range of food to choose from, and drinks too! Serving size is good for 1-2 persons, timely served, price reasonable and friendly staff! Photos for you to indulge, wagyu is a bit salty and too much rice! Could have more side veggies to complement to be honest! Pork buns tasted like home made, a bit of salt could add a bit of taste. Deep fried squid are okayish, same with their bubble tea, nothing exceptional --- too much of grass jelly, I do think they have to reconsider the percentage of their ingredients.
Tasty kai and great service. A good range of dishes on the menu to tickle the taste buds. I bought a duck baoger combo comes with chips and soft drink - it was a little bit pricey and didn't come with too many chips, but was tasty nonetheless. The 16 pack of chicken dumplings were tīno pai- I used the Welly advent calendar voucher for a cheeky discount.
Average experience. Rice was a bit dry as well as the Katsu. A bit overcooked, had to drown it in soy sauce. Dumplings were good though. You need to make the staff aware of you. After waiting for 5 minutes without being served, I grabbed the menu by myself and ordered at the cashier. First meal arrived after 10 minutes. Around 5 minutes later the 2nd one came in, and the first one was already pretty cold. 5 minutes later dumplings were served.
Food quality and choices are excellent i love their premium beef rice.Food: 5/5
If you enjoy standing around waiting to be served while 10 staff hang around the back making meals and completely ignoring you, then this is the place for you. There was no acknowledgment, no “we’ll be with you in x minutes”, nothing. This was despite numerous staff coming to the counter to ignore me multiple times. Learn some customer service skills.
This is an amazing restaurant I ever had in Wellington. The dumplings is so authentic and juicy! Remember to order the pan fried pork and chives dumplings that won't disappoint you guys. Highly recommended
Delicious and saves us every time we need a feed on a public holiday/ Monday. Worth the wait. The hand pulled noodles are banging.
Walked in, most tables not cleared or clean. My shoes were sticky due to unclean ground. Really unclean, food was amazing but gosh it was felt gross eating in there
