Absolute JOKE of a practice. Both the Bayfair and Papamoa branch are by far the worst GP practice I have ever dealt with. - They never pick up their phones on any of the lines, I have been waiting on their lines for the last 20 minutes, with just the answer machine going on repeat - They mess up my prescriptions every single time, forgetting to sign the papers, sending to the wrong pharmacy and FORGETTING to fulfil the prescription for weeks, while having the audacity to charge $26 for it every time. - The rude doctors, like Dr Firas and Gwenda have made me literally cry before during the appointments, by blaming me for not knowing their rules and taking up their time. I have had genuine health concerns that literally get brushed off and dismissed - The good doctors like Dr Mirjam and Lorraine leave, which isn't surprising that nobody wants to work there. They were so good, competent and compassionate, but they are gone now - I can keep listing things, but honestly this practice has caused me more stress than any of the health concerns that I needed it for. I am terrified of booking another appointment there Do not enrol here if you are a new patient, save yourself the trouble. Poor customer service. Receptionist very unprofessional. Slow in responding to requests. Rude nurse threw phone down in my ear when I queried her decision. My wife was seen in their walk-in clinic. Never seen a doctor and no examination performed. Suspected fracture just left with the nurse deciding it’s just a sprain she’s not qualified to make that decision . Has to ask and insist on a X-ray form. No splint or pain relieve offered. No follow up arranged. As a retired medical doctor and previous owner of several GP I'm really disgusted in these practices deteriorating service levels. So I left and transferred to a practise with the level of service I expect.
Myself and my family have used The Doctors Papamoa on occasions as we are registered with Bayfair, They a have an excellent level of care, the reception staff are all very friendly and helpful and they have a fantastic bunch of nurses and doctors that deal with walk-in services and they are all awesome with the kids. Me and my children have been acquainted with several of the Nurses and Practitioners here and they have all been very considerate, professional and always gone the extra mile with their care to make sure every process has been completed. I would recommend The Doctors Papamoa as they have a great level of service.
they use google. save yourself some money, as that’s all they want. always claim they don’t answer cause there busy as, decide to walk past & its empty. what an embarrassment really. really overpriced compared to other local doctors too, NOT WORTH IT! rude doctors that compare your problems to others too.
I'm disappointed with this doctors place now. LORRAINE HOGAN was the best doctor but she had to leave and doesn't do Adults anymore. I struggle with the rest of them and the reception at Papamoa Doctors and Bayfair NEVER ANSWER THE PHONE! its getting beyond a joke. Sort it out
If you're wondering what sort of doctors this is, it's the type that focus on short consult times to push as many patients thru as possible. They will listen to your health issues and tell you something trivial like eat more veges or drink less coffee. I had been to see this doctor 3 times with same result. Since I was so unimpressed with this careless attitude I moved to the new Tara Road Doctors and within one consult I had been properly examined, diagnosed, given a prescription and sent off for tests. 3 Visits to "the doctors papamoa" for the same thing, and they did none of that. If I could request a refund for the money they charged me I absolutely would. I have given 2 stars simply because the lady on receiption seemed to understand why i was disappointed with my doctors service, it seemed like she was used to it and was very understanding.
If I could give 0 stars I would. I have never had a doctor actually listen to me without saying “oh have antibiotics I’m sure that will fix whatever it is” however my last visit was really something else. The Male Indian doctor was rude, brushed off my concerns by telling me there are people with “real problems” and lecture me on completely irrelevant subjects. I have since had a diagnosis on exactly what I had suspected was the issue, but ofcourse the incompetent useless “doctors” at the doctors papamoa weren’t capable of doing their jobs, as per usual. Not sure how they became qualified, or if they ever even did.
This place is a joke. They don’t answer their phone, the receptionists are often rude except one of them you’re often left waiting a good hour after your appointment time before seeing anyone and the doctors have NO CLUE what they are doing. They either google your symptoms or tell you nothings wrong only for you to find out what’s really wrong after visiting 2nd ave or another doctor for a second opinion. This place should be shut down
I arrived 9am with my son 2 years old with constipation this morning and after waiting for more than a hour with a hungry and bored child I asked to the recepcionist how long more and she said to me maybe he’ll be next but nothing she can’t do and she explains that yes they put other people first even people who arrive later than my child so would have to wait the all day if someone would arrive with a “ worst case” than my son. Terrible sistem. Better said to people in advance how it works if is getting busier and give a people a choice to make an proper appointment avoiding stress to both sides. I was sick of waiting and I left after 10:20 am.
No one answer calls and when we there, the reception lady said clinic was full. We couldn’t neither doing a covid test nor seeing a doctor. Asking us to go somewhere else. And provided this number which is not even a valid number.
