I have been a patient with the Doctors Onehunga for many years and have always found the Receptionists to be very helpful. There is one particular lady at Reception called Donna who I think is exceptional, empathetic and knowledgeable and feel that she seems to go that extra mile to help out with us patient/s and would like to give her a shout out for a job well done. Keep up the good work.

Rang on Monday for a repeat script, paid online at the time, the script STILL hasn't been done, three days later! Have been told it should happen today, just as well I left time before I needed the pills. Usually 24 to 48 hours is all it takes, would have appreciated a warning. Leave LOTS of time before you need your meds.
Don't really have any negative comments on the doctors themselves, but the way the practice is run is poor. You can't book an appointment within 4 weeks, and walk-ins tend to end up with 4+ hours wait because kids and elders get priority and there is often only one doctor on site. The another one comes in so the first one leaves. Often instructions from nurses and other specialists are vague and you get contradicting information as to where to go next. I am looking to change doctors but getting a decent one which is open to new enrolments is near impossible.
My 1-star rating does not reflect my own GP, with whom I have no issues. However, the appointment booking system is astonishingly illogical. It is impossible to secure an appointment with my GP within a month. What’s the point of booking in advance if you can’t predict when you’ll be unwell? If I can’t see my own GP when needed, what is the point of being registered with this clinic?nI also question how many appointment slots GPs have per day, as availability seems extremely limited. The duty doctor I saw was inexperienced—not in terms of their manner, but in their medical skills—resulting in a poor experience.nnUnless a more efficient booking system is implemented, patient safety will continue to be compromised.
The second time I went to this clinic for my family member. The experience was really bad. We paid $130 consultation fee and waited quite long time about one hour, but no doctors see and check my family member, just a nurse called let my family member go home and have a rest. Again we requested to let the doctor check, and waited for another 30 minutes. A nurse called she said will give my family member prescription. So we kept waiting for the prescription for 30 minutes, no one came to us. I asked the staff in reception, she had got the prescription for long time and just printed it. The prescription is Panadol and Nurofen. The service and the staff attitude was really bad. We paid $130 for nothing and waited over 2 hours. Never came this clinic any more.
I wish I could rate negative stars. I got misdiagnosed by them with a back sprain repeatedly when I needed surgery.nIt took a couple of years, a loss of my job and several appointments to get referred to a specialist and needed back surgery to resolve part of my issue. Also the customer service is lacking and. They've spent a bunch of money upgrading reception area so they can double fee but on reality the chairs are even more uncomfortable and the wait times remain as long if not longer and I'm now looking for a new GP provider. If you decide to register to a doctor locally try as hard as you can to find another provider.
