The mushroom toast was a fantastic choice by the chef! The staff were friendly and kindly, and the cafe was busy with a steady stream of customers on a Sunday. It was a great meal on my last day in Canberra. The coffee is also great, and I'm grateful to the staff for their assistance.
There were many people on Sunday, and it happened to be quite cold. Fortunately, we only waited for about 20 minutes to get in. The waiter was very nice; noticing it was a bit chilly, he helped us choose a sunny spot. The attitude was great. The food here is quite delicious, and the coffee has a unique flavor. The waiter mentioned that the coffee I ordered tends to have polarized opinions—people either really like it or don't. Indeed, I ordered a coffee made with Ethiopian beans, which has an orange blossom flavor, resulting in a taste that's both bitter and slightly sour.
It's a busy cafe and understandably tables are so close to each other. It took awhile for the server to notice us but we found the qr code and just ordered there. We were warned about 15mins wait for coffee and 30mins wait for food. We had the aspen coffee, I had mushroom toast and hubby had avocado toast.
Food was lovely with smaller portions. Coffee was the usual ona splendid, bar the obvious time spent sitting on the bench before making it to our table.nThe service was terrible. We waited over 10 minutes from seating to be asked for our drink order then another 20 while the coffee was made to be asked our food order. We had to ask 3 times for water to be brought to our table and had to ask for cutlery after main meals were served. The server seemed disinterested and made no effort.
Loved this place, had an amazing breakfast experience.nnIt’s crowded so please plan your visit and should be easily one of must visit breakfast option!nnThey’ve got some exotic coffee options
