Fantastic date spot in the Central Coast, scenic views & a great atmosphere in the restaurant.nnService was impeccable, waitress was attentive, informative & cheery - I think she went above & beyond for her tables.nnFood was excellent with a clear plant-based menu for my vegan partner to enjoy. The highlight for us was the Chocolate & Caramel tart off her menu - definitely the best plant-based dessert I’ve eaten.nnCocktails were the only hit & miss section - we both enjoyed our espresso martini’s & floral gin mixes but the special Bourbon based floral cocktail wasn’t great.nnOverall though a fantastic experience for us to enjoy & recommend.
From the moment we went through the door on Christmas Day, The Cowrie had a warm, welcoming feel. We were promptly seated, in a beautiful spot by the window with a spectacular outlook of the beach and headlands.nWe were having the set Christmas menu with the wine pairing option. From the start, a cocktail for each of us, along with water. We were asked about dietary requirements I cannot eat oysters, so nice to be asked then the food started coming out. Shaun explained about the wine that was being poured - he was very informative and engaging throughout the courses.nThe food was amazing to say the least. Still would like the recipe for the crab tarts. Going through to the main that was shared with Turkey and Ham and great selection of vegetables and salad. Then the selection of deserts with sticky wine to close.nnOverall, the whole experience was special. All the staff did an amazing job, working hard on Christmas day with a warm smile.nThank you so much the staff for making Christmas so special.
Everything was amazing! The service was the perfect amount of attentive, but not over the top, welcoming and served dishes at the pace you were eating. The way the food was plated and the taste its self was insane. A great experience, beautiful view and priced accordingly for the exceptional dishes you were getting. Cannot wait to go back!
I came here for my birthday and the manager/owner was so inviting and welcoming, from start to end of the night - even gifting me a birthday box with hot chocolate, tea, spices and more. We came at night so can only imagine how stunning the view is during the day! Each dish was delicious and cooked to perfection, can't wait to come back.
Had our business Christmas dinner here with a preset menu. Unfortunately our experience wasn’t the best. No one explained to the guests what is included on our package. We had to ask about our included drinks which were limited to 2 cocktail options. The cocktails were good though. Our Entrees arrived about an hour and a half later. Mains were only served around 2 and a half hours after arrival. Some guests decided to leave before the mains were served due to the long wait. We had the Risotto and the Octopus for our entree choices. The Risotto wasn’t great at all. It tasted the way it looked on my photo. The Octopus was average according to the other guests.nnFor mains we had the Pork. This was lovely and really delicious maybe because we were so hungry after such a long wait .nnOther guests had the Murray Cod. According to their tastebuds it was just average.nnFor dessert some had the paddle pop which was a more expensive and maybe a slightly better version of a magnum ice cream . The rest had the cheesecake, but again not worth the wait for this.nnAfter 3 hours of being there, we left unsatisfied and slightly agitated. Don’t think they will see us again unfortunately.
