It’s pretty good here. The atmosphere is nice and the staff are sort of friendly enough. The food is tasty but it is very pricey for pretty much being a pub in Warragul. Heaps of options and the gardens with the fairy lights are lovely. Would go again for a night out with friends but wasn’t wowed!
Friendly staffs nice cosy atmosphere! Great food and great coffees! Highly recommended! We will be back for some weekend lunch! Thank you!
Unfortunately a bit disappointed with the most expensive and promising meal on The Courthouse Restaurant menu. As per photo; ingredients for the Scotch Fillet were scarce, had the luck of having a very fat and chewy cut and peppercorn sauce was not pleasant. On the positive side the mash was a nice consistency and broccoli nicely cooked. Risotto was substantialy better value but still lackluster in flavour. For the value and ambiance of this restaurant I will be leaving rather discontent and the likelihood of returning is unlikely.
Staff are all friendly, polite and nice. Food were all quite good. I like the volume of all the dishes!! Pizza was great. Salt & pepper calamari was amazing with good amount of salad! However the service was super slow. And somehow they forgot to cook my son's chicken burger. He ended up eating by himself in the end. BUT again, nice atmosphere to have meal and staff are all lovely.
Awesome lunch here today. The staff were lovely, great service, the food was very good, some of the best chips I have eaten in a long time. Pleased to see they support local business by serving cider brewed locally. Thanks for a great meal!
The Courthouse certainly delivers a much better meal today than it did a few years ago, however having been three times over the last 3 months I'm questioning the value for money. It's quite expensive, but given the prompt, friendly service and the beautiful venue itself, you initially won't mind. However, the food itself is inconsistent: I've had genuinely great pizza's here, but most recently I've had a completely bland "spicy lamb" pizza and a soggy, undercooked meat lovers. They used to offer a lovely lemon meringue, but that's off the menu these days; the "Blondie slice" that has replaced it is a basic cake they've cooked in a tray and sliced up. I spent $150+ last night on a dinner for two: that's not cheap and for that money I'm expecting premium food in a country town. Sometimes they hit, sometimes they don't I'm giving it 4 stars based on the best I've had there, but if I was marking it on my last 2 visits it would be 2.5 stars.
Dropped in on the spur of the moment, we had a fantastic reception from staff. Toni was very professional and polite but also cheerfully welcoming and did a fantastic job. Atmosphere awesome Food was amazing we will be returningRecommended dishesSalt & Pepper Calamari, Courty Burger
Meals were nice the ones we did receive. How the kitchen ‘forgot’ to send out 3 children’s meals beats me. Usually they’re sent out first, you know hungry children and all. Feed the kids keep them happy = happy parents who in turn spend more! After the entire table of 14 had finished their meals we finally got to ask our waiter where are the children’s meals? ‘Oh so sorry this happened on the other table tonight too’ two large dinner bookings upstairs. Once, fair enough but twice?! Very long wait for winging kids! Waiter advised he would see if he could get the meals ‘comped’ to which the managers declined, one children’s meals was removed. Not good enough.
I ordered the entree corn fritters which was served with a strange and grainy tasting aioli and bottled tomato sauce which seemed like the most wierd and odd combination of flavours. The fritters were undercooked, tasteless & inedible. The latte I ordered also had a strange taste and I couldn’t drink it. I don’t know how this restaurant can survive serving such terrible meals where every item on the menu is overpriced. Not sure I would pay $30-35 for small average pizza that is not wood fired. Burgers over $30!! I doesn’t make any sense. I can’t believe the majority of reviews are 4-5*. I can only conclude they are paid reviews because it absolutely makes no sense that this restaurant is still operating. I will NEVER return. Dietary restrictions: A colleague who has dietary requirements ordered a chicken salad - chicken looked like it was cut into cubes and served cold. It didn’t look appetising & other colleagues were also not impressed with their meals.
I attended a function here recently, and was considerably disappointed by the service and pricing of drinks and food. Numerous pizzas and starters were ordered and only after complaining 45 to 60mins later was the second half of the order received. The price of meals is high for the quality and serving size. Drinks were similar in terms of price. Several tables around the outside area were left uncleared for over 1.5 hours and other than the solitary younger lady working the bar, who diligently worked on her own there seemed to be very poor service. The outdoor/live music area is very nice but overall but the rest of the experience over shadowed this. I've been here numerous times before it changed hands and enjoyed good quality food, decent pricing and service with a smile. Unfortunately that wasn't my experience this time around.
