I ordered the standard chicken parmigiana and a pot of goat cider for $26.70 on a Tuesday. The venue runs offers for chicken parmigiana according to a Good Food guide on The Age. The parmigiana was super crispy with a moist, juicy chicken. The chips were thick, not like the skinny ones you get at McDonald's. Overall, the food was delicious and I will certainly come back.
Good value pub food, classic inner Melbourne pub.nnI’ve been here many times over the years and it’s always good. The fitout if instantly how you would an inner Melbourne to be, lots ok spaces, heaps of memorabilia on the walls and a healthy mix of students and locals.nnThe food is ok, noting spectacular but for the price a good deal. They have food promos most night, we happened to be there for the burger night. I had the beef burger and would get it again.nnWould I recommend this place, yes. Give it a look in next time you’re in the area.
I had my 21st in the beer garden and it was a fantastic night. A huge thank you to Ross and all the staff at the Clyde for making it so special. Beef sliders were awesome!
The place looks a bit dated and has a typical old pub look and feel. Good for quick work lunches or after work beers. The food and service was great. The place has good vegetarian options. Tried the pan fried Gnocchi. It was delicious and the portion size was good.
Some of the crew that accompanied us to The Clyde told of tales of their time at Uni coming here and having memorable nights. Tonight ours was no exception. As a group of work colleagues, we came here for a post-training dinner and frankly, it was the ideal spot.nFirstly, our table has this clever sign on it - where although table was reserved for 6.30pm, patrons are invited to use it until then. Clever.nMenu was extensive and there is something for everyone including anyone with special dietary requirements. Vegetarians particularly have a good range to choose from.nWe ordered our meals and most people chose the variations of parmigiana. I had two entrees of Gyoza and a large serve of zucchini and eggplant chips. Everyone raved about their food and certainly the portion sizes were generous.nBut what really stood out for us was Matt, an employee who went above and beyond to accommodate one of us who had allergies and the meal she ordered was mixed up. His apologies, preparing a new meal, shouted her a beer for the inconvenience and overall attentiveness is rare these days but certainly didn’t go unnoticed by 14 of us. Everyone looked to me as a professional reviewer and nodded their approval.nThe Clyde has a few spaces where you can meet up that are separate from each other - whether it’s the main bar, the cute beer garden where we’d sat the night before for a quick coldie, the dining areas or even the roof top garden. The walls are covered in memorabilia, there are a few tv screens televising sport or other events.nStaff are exceptional even when ‘under the pump’ at peak hour.nDecor is interesting with fun ‘day of the dead’ artwork on the toilet doors. But it is pre Christmas so lots of decorations.nNotes: wheelchair friendly, disabled accessible, kid friendly, high chairs available, parking is reasonable in and around the area.
