The Claremont Hotel

The staff are great fun and they have plenty of craft beers available. The food is cheap and edible but it's not known locally as a place to go for dinner. Thursday and Sunday evenings you can expect a large student presence these are predominantly 18 - 21 year olds and they will open the upstairs bar for them to dance the night away before the Avenue (ex- Club Bayview) opens the doors. The Claremont hotel is a beautiful old historic building and i implore you to look up at the ceiling the next time you're in the venue and appreciate the meticulous architecture of this once prestigious hotel.

Good venue, across the road from a train station, and a short walk from a 24 hour hungry jacks, usually has a good crowd, would recommend for Thursday night drinks.

Female bar manager and staff was were nice but I find it a bit annoying that I drove out of my way just to come for the $15 steak chips and a middy lunch deal (that is advertised online as being on tuesdays) all to find out that it’s now changed to Wednesday’s, thought maybe since I showed them the advertisement they still might be able to do it for me but apparently they don’t have steak in the kitchen on a Tuesday. All in all very nice staff but obviously some organisation problems.

Okay. Friendly staff and convenient location. Great as a railway pub (jump off the train for a beer).

Good beer selection. Small outdoor area for smoking and drinking... Lots of TVs with Sports. I've also been to an art event Upstairs. Great space for an event.
